Great stay but needs a little polish

If you want to be in the middle of nowhere in your almost private African safari with giraffes on site then you should consider staying here. Is it luxury? No, but do you get great space, views, comfortable lodge and great service? Yes. More 3 than a 4 star and it does need a little love. We really enjoyed our stay and with a full kitchen/ own brai area in the accommodation it is a great place to go with the kids or family for self catering. We went half board and food was good. If you are a coffee snob take your own!

Die Lodge ist doch ganz schön in die Jahre gekommen. Ausstattung eher spärlich, Beleuchtung mit Neon-Licht unangenehm bzw., wenn man darauf verzichtet, dann sehr schummrig. Die Handtücher waren durchweg nicht sauber, was dann ein eher unangenehmes Gefühl verbreitet, wenn man in die Betten steigt. Essen durchschnittlich. Auch war man offenbar auf unsere Ankunft nicht vorbereitet, da alle am verschlossenen Gate angezeigten Kontakttelefonnummern nicht besetzt waren. Insgesamt viel zu teuer angesichts der gebotenen Leistung.

Das eigene Chalet war sehr geräumig und hatte sogar eine separate Dachterrasse mit toller Aussicht. Durch das Gelände spazieren Giraffen, wenn man Glück hat, kommen diese auch in die Nähe. In der Lodge kann man einen Gamedrive machen und sehr gut essen. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett. Wir können die Lodge sehr empfehlen!

Die Ausstattung der Räumlichkeit ist doch schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Im Bad fehlte die Abdeckung der Lampe und das Inventar ist sehr alt und nicht mehr ansprechend. Das Personal holt es aber wieder heraus und das Glück, wenn man die Giraffen direkt vor der Lodge bestaunen kann.

Giraffen, Giraffen :)

Traumhafte Lage, deshalb kann es auch mal sein das der Strom ausfällt. Morgens Giraffen am Zimmer. Zimmer liegen an einem kleinen Wasserloch und man kann von der oberen Terasse sehr weit gucken und Tiere beobachten.

Great stay near Addo

Charihandra is a lodge with an own animal park including giraffes, zebras, kudus and what not. It is 30 minutes from Addo National park and a bit off the beaten track. It's absolutely quiet, the luxury chalets are huge and super comfortable. It was by far our best room on the whole trip through South Africa! The food was ok, like you eat at a friends place. Francois was very helpful with everything and we enjoyed our stay there a lot.
