A little gem. This place is clearly a local hub. The restaurant and bar had a great buzz. The service and food were excellent as was the room. Definitely recommend and will stay again when I’m in the area.

Room was spacious, and quiet. People of the town , Tarland, are super nice and helpful. Breakfast delicious, and a lot of food. The service was above and beyond. Also, the dinners are fabulous if you decide to eat at the restaurant downstairs! We hope to be back!

My husband recently stayed at this lovely family run hotel and was really impressed. Before his arrival they even called ahead to ask if he’d like them to reserve his tea time slot in case it filled up, such a thoughtful touch. The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and well looked after. They also went the extra mile by preparing him a packed lunch for the next day, which was much appreciated while he was working away. He’ll definitely be staying here again whenever he’s in the area for work.

Great hotel

Great hotel our room was huge (room 5) and very comfortable. Staff were friendly, great breakfast and evening meals available in the bar restaurant onsite. Good location for visiting Balmoral and Cairngorms National Park. Couldn’t fault it.

We stayed here for one night for our friend’s wedding. It was a lovely stay in a friendly, authentic, well maintained hotel. There were good options for breakfast including a variety of cooked options and continental. We were sad we couldn’t have stayed here longer and hope to return

Would highly recommend this property. Close to Balmoral. Clean spacious room and bathroom with great amenities. Very comfortable bed. The colour scheme in the room was vibrant and well thought out.

Nice hotel with friendly staff, only issues I had was my room was on the front of the hotel and as I like to have my window open when the pub patrons were outside for a smoke I had a really strong smell of smoke in my room.

Exceeded expectations.

Excellent stay for my one night stay; a Sunday. Pretty busy but service was great - genuinely interested in customers. Nice to have real ale and homemade food options. Comfortable room, good beds and facilities.

Clean comfortable rooms, great atmosphere with fantastic staff. Good choice of food, with specials most nights. Kitchen was flexible in providing early breakfast outside normal hours at the weekend when we had an early start to our activities for the day.

We thought the hotel was lovely. Spotlessly clean inside, the rooms were very well equipped apart from the shockingly poor non steam iron in the room. The bed was super comfortable and all of the staff were incredible. Nothing was too much trouble, everyone was super welcoming and friendly and helpful. All of the food we had during our stay was lovely . Generous meals sizes and wonderfully prepared. The hotels is well managed and maintained and run by a wonderful team . I highly recommend this place to stay, you wont be disappointed. We will defo come to stay again .next time for longer. Thank you so much for making our time in Scotland so special .

The hotel was nice in many ways. Reception was chaotic. There was no recepton area, just a bell, which I rang three times. After the third time, I went through to the bar to find that an elderly lady was managing both bars, and check in.. Eventually after about 25 minutes we got checked in. The room was basic but clean, warm and comfortable. We had a nice cooked breakfast in the morning. I dont think £140 was particularly cheap for the standard of accomodation.
