A so-so stay. My dad wanted this break to be special as part of my mum’s birthday and we found our stay to be underwhelming. Firstly, through some research it appears that this hotel is no longer a part of the main Hilton group. This wasn’t communicated to us and caused a little anxiety not knowing if the booking was still valid or not. I called a few days prior to have this confirmed and the staff member on the phone advised we only had 1 night booked instead of 2. I had to explain this wasn’t the case.
When we arrived, we completed a form which again had 1 night stay on it. Had to advise that we were staying 2 nights. That felt a bit disorganised. We asked some questions to the check in staff member and went to our room. We had a little look at the facilities and there was pubic hair in the bath. This was pretty unpleasant. There was also blood on the bathroom door. The room was quite dusty, cobwebs and areas where The carpet wasn’t vacuumed. The windows also hadn’t been cleaned and there were clear outlines where someone had written on the window when there was condensation. The beds were comfortable and thankfully they were clean.
The breakfast was £13.95 pp and this did not offer good value for money. The ingredients tasted low quality. Particularly the ‘fresh’ juices and baked beans. We were told the night before to pay at the register at the breakfast counter. So we went there and we were looked at like we were aliens with two heads
