"I didn’t exactly know what I was letting myself in for when I booked into The Shepherd’s Lodge but it was actually a pleasant experience and it provided exactly what I was looking for i.e. a comfortable place to lay my head at night and have a cup of tea and few quiet hours after a long day at a Folk Music Festival. The only problems I encountered were due to the weather and therefore beyond anyone’s control. "

5/5 Excellent
"Lovely hotel and room. All very clean and comfortable. Great location for shops and the Elbow gig! Lots of nearby food places too. The upstairs bar and restaurant was very nice, especially siting out on the balcony for pre (and post) concert) drinkies!
The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. The bar staff were very hard working, they had to be as there were far too few considering how busy it was. The only gripe was the too loud music in the evening. Almost impossible to have a conversation! More like a disco...but nobody was dancing:-("
"Great little hotel for the price, went with my brother and got us a room each for the nice, not the best hotel for for £40 per person per night it was pretty fing good lol, will stay again"

"Room was lovely and clean, some marks on the walls, staff very friendly and helpful. Bar meals we purchased were good value for money, and tasty.
We chose the hotel as a very short walk to Resorts world arena. Parked for free in hotel car park. Will definitely stay again."
