“Retired couple”
We found this hotel to be in an excellent position, in the main square at Avignon. It was an easy walk pulling suitcases from the TGV shuttle bus stop and then back to Avignon Centre station when we left. It was a short walk to the Palais de Papes, Pont d'Avignon and other interesting churches. As it was December, the square was full of Christmas market stalls, of much better quality than others we had seen elsewhere. The square was noisy and bright with lights (our room overlooked it) but the double glazing and curtains were adequate to overcome this. The buffet breakfast served downstairs was good value for money and unusually for France, there were limited tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The hotel wasn't new and shiny, but clean and functional with a nice historical feel and staff who were happy to help out by speaking English when our French gave out.. The one quite substantial downside however was the lack of soundproofing between rooms, the young lady coughing next door seemed right by my bed! For travellers looking to stay in the historic centre of town without breaking the budget, it is a good option.
“Outstanding boutique hôtel conveniently located”
Located at the heart of avignon this hotel offers a great starting point for exploring the city with its proximity to the principal attractions as well as a variety of bars and restaurants. Staff are both pleasant and knowledgeable and we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
“Happy days and nights in Avignon”
Fantastic service. Reception was extremely helpful and suggested sights, restaurants, tours and local advice enhanced our Avignon experience. Had a great room overlooking the square and recomend upgrading here; clean, roomy and comfortable.
“Great spot in Avignon”
Ideal place to explore Avignon from. Just a block walk to center and restaurants as well as Popes Palace. Really enjoyed our stay in Avignon, very interesting.
“Gem in Avignon”
Very nice hotel in the heart of Avignon. Steps away from the Palace of the Popes. We were there for five nights. The mattress was not as comfy as it should be but the rest of the hotel is a delight. The staff was very helpful in arranging reservations. Staff is fluent in multiple languages. Our room was very large for a European hotel and we were ugraded upon arrival. Night time revelers got a little loud one night.....but that will happen any where you go. We would stay here again.
“Location is all this hotel offers”
We paid for two traditional rooms. I wonder what their "regular" rooms are like or whether we actually got those and paid more than we should have. Tiny, even by European standards. Spartan, even by European standards. Pull your luggage down steps and up steps just to get into the room. We were on the 1st floor, so we endured revelers at night and street cleaners in the early morning. The staff was helpful with Internet (but the iPad didn't work) and with a restaurant recommendation (excellent). Plan to get lost getting there. "Everyone does," they laughed, after we'd spent 1-1/2 hours in the tiny streets of Avignon, encountering city "guides" who spoke little English and never gave us helpful directions. Great location, but I wouldn't stay there again.
“Strategic Location”
Hotel is located in front of Place de L Horloge, next to city hall, walking distance from everything in Avignon. While the rooms are average (American) size, service is good/friendly, everything is clean, and they have great beds. They provide a parking discount that becomes significant, the longer you stay. Ask for the hotel's WiFi password and I.D. It is available, and will provide the phone access you need at a cheaper rate. Place de L Horloge is a straight shot from the train station, which makes the hotel an option for those using the rail system. Location also offers the option of having cheaper breakfast arrangements at the outdoor cafes in the area. Highly recommend it.
“Best location”
This hotel is right on Promenade Des Angles. Close to Cour Salaya. To all the shopping. The most convenient at the best value. Maybe its off season rate for the hotel room. But great. The rooms seems its just been refurbished. Tasteful, double sliding windows to sound proof. robe and slippers, Well thought out just as from picture. I will go back to this same hotel in the summer. Sea view and view of the Promenade.
“The right choice”
Very central, has a boutique hotel feel. I would recommend coffee and croissant around the corner instead of the pricey hotel breakfast. The staff at the reception was very helpful with reserving restaurants and giving directions. Good value.
“would get a room there again”
The location of the hotel is fabulous! very near everything and in the heart of Avignon. I loved the room I was in. It was small but lovely. The bathroom was beautiful and modern and clean. the room was very clean and bright with french doors that opened onto a roof terrace overlooking the town. i got there in time to see the most spectacular sunset from my terrace. the bed was heavenly comfortable. the only problem was not having wifi. the woman at the desk was going to deliver the secret code to me but she never did and I fell asleep waiting. Tip: ask for a room with an outside terrace attached.
