“Tour group favorite”
Although categorised as a beach hotel/on the beach the beach is some 500 meters away via two residential blocks. The hotel is also some 60 km south of central Valencia and the airport so use the metro and train -is costs less than 10 euros compared with more than 80 by taxi! The beach by the way is excellent, clean and extensive. Other than at the hotel reception, English was not widely spoken or undertaood even in the cafes and the resort seems to be favored mainly by tour groups and Spanish families. The hotel has set a meal timing schedule and because of the afternoon siesta when everything seems to close down, dinner is not available until 8.30pm, so after lunch you will need to snack. The town itself and hotel location is relatively quiet apart from weekends when various cafe music bars are in evidence. The hotel is a modern building and most rooms appear to have a balcony and sea or sea port view. We had a buffet breakfast each day which was part of the packeage on offer, but the choice was limited and the quality variable apart from the excellent tortilla. All other meals we took locally as there are plenty of cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance, though most offered similar snacky type food. All in all a pleasant, relaxing and quiet place best suited to tour groups, who like beach activities and understand a little spanish.
“Great trip to the beach”
The Hotel Cibelas Playa is a short walk from a beautiful, clean beach. The rooms were clean, AC worked, staff was helpful. Great breakfast buffet. Great views. The neighborhood had a "beach town" atmosphere. Not the place for a quiet, peaceful vacation, but great if you want to enjoy the food and beach and fun surrounding the hotel. The people around town were kind and friendly to us. We enjoyed our time here.
