“Good only if you get Expedia rate”

The hotel is safe, very bussy lobby, has good eating facilities with free hi fy . Expedia rate is appropriate for the facility.

“Very tight quarters”

Room was very small and dated

Comment from the hotel's management
Thank you for taking the time to review us. I was disappointed to hear that the condition of your room did not meet your expectations, and would like to apologize for the disappointment you felt. I can promise you that this does not represent the usual high level of service we work hard to provide our guests with. I am pleased to let you know we have renovated all of our corridors and our guest rooms on the lower floors and continually upgrade our guest rooms and features. We have installed iPod docking stations and LCD flat screen TVs in the majority of our upgraded rooms and hope to finish the process soon. I have sent your comments to our Rooms Division to follow up with your concerns, and can assure you your feedback has not been taken lightly. We hope to welcome you back in 2012.

“Clean and friendly”

The service was excellent, and there were plenty of places to eat in the surrounding area. I will say that it was a tad pricey for food, and Expedia has listed that they have complementary breakfast, which is only half true... there is breakfast served, for a price. There is also no fridge, which limits your food options. However, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and ready to assist. Amenities (pool, hot tub, gym) were also quite nice to have in the hotel. The surrounding area was a tad shady if you're walking around at night, but other than that it was quite charming.

“Delta Chelsea Well Worth It”

This is the fourth time I've stayed at the DC, each time through an Expedia special rate. This was the best room yet--queen size bed, super comfortable, with soft linens and comfy pillows, a real plus. The room was an 01, which is at end of hall but means you get great views in two directions, so worth it. The bathroom vanities are large, plenty of room for accessories, another critical element for me. Check-in and check-out were super-courteous and fast. There have been lines in the past, but none this time. My one disappointment was the TV is old, tube-style, but I wasn't in the room, awake, all that long, so wasn't that important. All in all, I think the DC is a great value, efficient, and a good location, just a few minutes from College Station subway stop.

“a good time in Toronto”

Just got back from a stay at the Delta Chelsea....it was a great hotel, but I do not think we will be staying there again. The only reason being, there were no king beds available (and the price to reserve a king bed room was ridiculous). We had 2 double beds. The room was on the small side, but we were not there to hang out in the room. The bathroom was nice as well. The over 18 pool/workout area was very nice, and the view on from the rooftop is fantastic! The staff was very nice as well. One small complaint is that the hotel charges for internet (in this day and age....really?! and we have smart phones, but I dont want to pay our carriers "roaming charges"). $6 for 15 min, and up from there.

Getting around
USE THE SUBWAY!!!! we paid way too much money in cab fare the first day in Toronto. The subway system is very clean and easy. USE THE SHUTTLE SERVICE (big yellow coach buses)!! We did not know about this service when we got in...we paid $60 for a cab ride from the airport to the hotel (the shuttle cost us $39 for 2 people, 1 way)

“Excellent hotel”

The front desk is very well organized, probably the best I've ever seen. The rooms were very clean, albeit a little small. Very convenient location in Toronto - right in the heart of downtown.

“Good value, nice amenities”

The location was perfect for me during the conference I was attending because I enjoy long walks. It's about one mile from the Metron Toronto Convention Center, and that mile stretch included many nice shops and restaruants. The gym was nicely kept up. I made nightly use of the gym, pool, sauna, and hot tub. But mainly I go to a hotel for a place to sleep, and the bed was very, very comfortable. When I came home, I told my wife that I want to go shopping for a new mattress. (She said no.)

Area recommendations
Lexington Market is cool.
Getting around
You can walk anywhere if you have the time. It's a pretty pedestrian-friendly city. To get downtown from the airport, consider mass transit. A bus from the airport to the subway station costs $3, and you get a free transfer for the subway the rest of the way. The trip takes about an hour. You can also take a private bus for $24, which will also take about an hour. $3 is better, to me.
Dining
If you're a vegetarian or vegan, Toronto is a great city. You need to go to Hot Beans. It's a very divey hole in the wall, but it's clean and the vegan burritos are so delicious. Vegetarian Haven is another nice one. If you're going to be in Toronto for a while, head to 17 Baldwin, go upstairs to the Toronto Vegetarian Assoc. (est. 1945!), and ask for a map of restaurants. Very handy resource.

“Just ok”

The Delta Chelsea was just ok. The room was fine, but a little rundown at the edges. The hotel was convenient to the subway and streetcar, which was perfect for me as a business traveler. But there was only wi-fi in the lobby (not up in my sixth floor room), and the business center closed at 9 pm (ack!). The staff was helpful, and the lobby had a decent little store and an ATM, but those conveniences didn't make up for the overall blah of the rest of the place. If I come back to Toronto, I would stay somewhere else for business travel.
