“Awesome”
Myself and my 3 mates stayed here over summer 2006. It was awesome, we had a top floor apartment overlooking the beach. The apartment was 2 story and was at the end of the walkway so we had an extra patio to hang out on. The receptionist was a very nice woman and treated us very fair. They also keep your key is u want to hit the strip at night. So satisfied that I am returning 23rd august 2007! =D
“Nice hotel in great location”
This is the 2nd time we stayed at the Compostela and both times we have had a great holiday. The hotel has been fully refurbished and is now looking far better than before. The room was immaculate with nice decor and thoroughly cleaned 5 days out of 7. The pool area is nice with good sunbeds and parasols. Only downside is the lift does not go to the pool area and so we had to carry our 8 month old downstairs in his buggy. Would be a problem if there was only 1 person there or someone in a wheelchair. You could go out at reception and then round to a side gate to get to the pool though so it's not totally inaccessible. This is the only downside to a very decent hotel with friendly, helpful staff.
“Compostela Beach - A little too noisy for us”
The hotel is nice and in a good location for shops, the beach and a taxi (5 EUROS) ride to Veronicas for a drink. The bar is nice and cheap during the day and the pool is lovely for a dip in the afternoon. The only problems we had were that we were on the ground floor, above a car park and it was impossible to sleep in past 8. You can hear every little thing that goes on above and below the apartment. There was also some random drilling that went on for a few mornings. It felt like the walls were hollow. The other problem happened on our very last day. We had a phone call in the morning saying we had to be out by 1, this is fair enough. The problem was they came at 11:50 saying we had to be out by 12! This meant we had to rush around packing our things while the cleaners throw bleach everywhere and even threw away our cheese! Customer service seemed to get thrown out of the window, and we were not treated very well at all. Just pushed out of our room. All in all a very nice hotel just let down by a few things.
“Nice location right on the beach.”
I liked that it was located right on the beach. Very hard to find a parking space though. The room was nice, but not very clean. But for the price value I can't complain. Staff was friendly too.
“Very poor hotel in a nice location”
The location is excellent but the quality of the room is only ONE star. Room is very old with aging furniture. We booked a see-view room based on the photos but we discovered that the terrace is actually part of a corridor.
