“Great, affordable location.”

The service by staff was really good and the convenience of the on-site restaurant and bar was appreciated. However, there is no front wheelchair access which was a slight inconvenience.

The Travelodge is central to most sights in Sydney; very convenient. Clean rooms and lobby and friendly staff.

“I would definitely stay there again”

My wife and I stayed there in one room. My parents stayed in another. The rooms were clean, and everything was nice. The location of this hotel was perfect in my opinion - right next to the train station, and so easy to catch a taxi from there was well. The only minor issue was that the air-con was not blowing out cool air. But it was at least blowing enough air for adequate ventilation. The issue didn't worry me too much, but it could be an issue for other guests. My parents also indicated that the aircon wasn't really outputting cold air as well in their room. Not too many TV channels to choose from as I recall. But reception was good and they had a well-known pay-tv sports channel at least. The reception staff were nice. No problem at all. And they were very kind with calling a taxi for us (for free) upon check-out. I would definitely stay there again. Also - very reasonably priced.

Area recommendations

I recommend the circular quay area because it is a very popular area for tourists.

“Good Location”

Room was clean, large and comfortable. For the money, however, I would have expected more in the fridge. Breakfast was okay....priced in line with others I suppose. Only real complaint was, when we checked in with our Booking Receipt, we were actually charged again for the room, but did not realise until money disappeared from our account and, 4 days later, we were able to discover it was taken by the Receptionist on duty at our time of arrival. We were not advised of the $50 "deposit" charge, but we had read the notice and, being frequent hotel guests, knew this to be the case. We did not even get a printout at the time, of what we were being charged. Staff need to be more "on the ball" when checking guests in.

“Great Location, Good Price”

Good hotel with a great location for the price. Breakfast is reasonably priced and the staff are very friendly. It is part of the NSW Leagues club.

“Excellent front desk in hotel located in central business district.”

Front desk personnel extremely helpful and friendly. Lack of free WiFI vex some but can use free WiFI from either public library nearby or adjacent coffee shop just to the right of entrance. Lack of complimentary fitness center access also vex some. Breakfast is very over priced. All meals over priced. Can purchase airport shuttle ticket one dollar cheaper at convenience store next door to the right. Great location. Overpriced.

“Great location if you need a bed for the night in Central Sydney”

Clean, tidy, close to the central Sydney CBD. If you basically need bed for the night in walking distance of the city centre, this hotel is great. The room contains all the basics. There's the bistro for the leagues club downstairs, which has a range of breakfast options / prices (and does other meals). You can charge it to your room if you wish. The staff are friendly and helpful. And the city centre is a five minute walk. If you're looking to spend time in your room doing other things (working, entertaining, kid wrangling), this is probably not the place. But if you're really just interested in a bed for the night, this place is highly recommended

“Noisey with uncomfortable bed”

Bed was so hard & uncomfortable, mould in the bathroom, bathroom vent did not work, Room was adjoining another room & I could hear every word the other guests were saying. Also hallway noise came straight through.

“In the heart of Sydney”

The hotel was fine. The staff were extremely helpful in making reservations and researching things to do. I only have two complaints. The hallway we were in had very strong and unpleasant mildew smells. Also, there is no free wifi. However, there is a library two blocks away with free access.
