“A home away from home.”

We stayed in the Mercure hotel for 6 days. It well very well located for our needs. It was simple to jump on a bus or a train and go anywhere we wanted. The gym had a great view and all the equiptment I needed. The pool was a bit smaller than I expected but I was able to have the whole thing to myself on numerous occasions. They also had a steam room but it took a long time to heat up so I only got to use it once.

“Nice hotel; great location”

Nice comfortable room with good amenities. Great location, close to transportation, restaurants and some shopping. Breakfast buffet rather expensive, but nearby restaurants available. Nice staff.

“Would choose this hotel again!”

The hotel is next to the Airport train but not noisy! It is easy to access the main streets - Pitt and George and 15-20 min walking to the inner harbor and Opera House, respectively. The hotel is very quiet and the room quality is very good (has own safe!). The service is excellent and the hotel is eco-friendly.

“Fab hotel”

Good location, almost next door to Central Station. Only about a 20 min walk to Circular Quay if you want the exercise. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

“Wonderful stay, annoying shower curtain”

I loved staying here, its next door to one of the main rail stations in the city and so it was easy to get anywhere. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and there is a concierge desk with helpful staff, maps, and suggestions. The airport shuttle bus is one dollar cheaper (as of this writing) than the airport train and picks you up right at the hotel, ask for a ticket on that instead, as the train requires you to lug your baggage to the far end of the adjacent rail station. The neighborhood around is a little run down. Internet access was something like $24 a day, a bit pricey. The shower curtain was very wispy and light and would blow out into the bathroom with the air pressure change when the shower was on. The result was that the bathroom floor got covered in an inch of water and was slow to drain. They would do well to get rubberized or heavier nylon shower curtains. All in all, I was very impressed, though.

“Wanna Go Back”

Situated right by the train station, you can sit and people watch form this great hotel. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and know the benefits if greeting you with a smile. Rooms were small but it was all we needed, extra coffee was left as requested and as I come from colder climes the heating was left exactly as we'd left it to be comfortable. Ten points...

“Excellent Customer Service”

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in and I have been to numerous places across the USA, Europe, U.A.E, and Thailand. The staff is really helpful and nice. My room was clean and neat. The rooms are priced reasonable as well. I recommend this hotel to any person visiting Sydney because it is in a centralized location. There is a bus stop as well as a train station located right outside the hotel. I felt very safe during my 5 night stay in November 2006.

“Comfort and convenience”

I stayed with my brother for just one night and we had a city view room which we were upgraded to on check-in. The king single beds were quite comfortable and the room was quite large, nice and clean, as was the bathroom. I can't say I like the shower over bath combination but I knew that when I booked. It was a comfortable stay and definitely very convenient. I booked it as it's so close to central station and buses. Anything we wanted was pretty much on our doorstep and it's an easy walk to Darling Harbour etc. Overall a great hotel at a great price!
