“Great location”

Great location, right on Darling Harbour, which we could see from our balcony. We were even surprised with a spectacular fireworks display on our second night, which we watched from the balcony with a glass of wine in hand. The room was comfortable with everything we needed for a short stay. Staff were courteous. Only complaint is that a giant cockroach crawled across the room on our way out. Needless to say we were happy to be checking out after that! Despite the nasty surprise, we really did enjoy our stay at the Medina Grand Harbourside.

“Disappointed in room and service”

Very hard to find a park to check in. No parking was available at the hotel for the first night. Was only acknowledged by staff on check in and check out. Room was unclean, damaged carpet, stains on couch and walls, very dusty. Over all disappointed in the hotel. The positives: great location, very comfy bed, reception area gym pool and sauna all very nice.

Area recommendations

The Rocks, Darling Harbour, were great. Spent hours walking around. Bondi was great for a day trip even with he bad weather was great to see the beach and very good shopping.

Getting around

Walk! everything is surprisingly close and there is plenty to look at on the way.

Shopping

Bondi Junction was the best place to shop. quieter then the city and cheaper with all the same shops.

“Llooking forward to staying again for 3-4 nights”

Hotel is modern and rooms are very attractive albeit coffee table had stains that should have been removed. Great location to Darling Harbour and within walking distance of the city centre. Like the idea of self contained features such as washing machine, dryer, fridge & cooking facilities.

“Great location and very comfortable”

I normally stay at the Novotel in Darling Harbour which I love. But given that my kids are getting older, I thought more space was needed for my sanity. After much research, I picked the Medina Grand Harbourside and I loved it. It is on the opposite side of the Novotel. It is next to the Aquarium but is so much closer to the heart of the city. I timed it - it takes exactly 9 minutes from this hotel to Pitt Street by foot. The reception staff are not very friendly and they wanted to charge me again for the extra person using the roller bed. I had already paid thru Expedia and they kept pushing me even after i showed them my itinentary. I had a 1 bedroom premier apartment. It is a smallish kitchen, lounge area with 1 bedroom and bathroom, two balconies. They gave me a roller bed. The rooms are cleaned everyday. Be careful, everything is extra. They have a washing machine and dryer and they have a small packet of soap powder and they wanted $4.50 for it. Buy your own. There are a few 7 Eleven stores around and lots of beautiful restaurants. The pool is freezing but they claim it is heated. Overall, this hotel is great and would stay there again. The location can't be beat.

Darling Harbour has everything you could possibly want. It is only 10 minutes by walk to the city centre. Paddy's Market is great and has improved since 4 years ago. Have to go to Westfield in the City and go the level 5 foodcourt. YOu will not be disappointed.

Family-friendly activities

My kids are aged 10 and 14 and they loved staying at Darling Harbour. Stayed for 6 nights and they were entertained the whole time. There is a fantastic playground there with climbing equipment, the Aquarium, the Wildlife Park and all the restaurants have kids menus. We went to the Zoo, and did a Whale Watching Cruise. Take your seasick tablet first. The kids saw a couple of whales and dolphins. I was too busy down the deck covering my eyes to stop getting seasick.

“One of Darling Harbours best places to stay for people on the move!!!”

Great hotel for people on the move we didnt stop , Mono rail only a small walk away and a beautiful walk at night around Darling Harbour , great places to eat near by also ... We will go back and do even more !!!!

“Very impressed”

We were impessed with the cleanliness of the hotel and the room. The staff gave us really good service and helped us out. The hotel had a lot of services available to the guests such as the pool and the sauna which was a bonus. I would recommend the hotel to others :-)

“Great Harbour Location”

Quality hotel in great location if wanting to take advantage of Darling Harbour attractions. Only drawback would be that if you have your own car, the parking within the hotel fills up quick and the alternate is almost two blocks away, highly inconvenient when it's raining.

“Convenient location.”

The Medina Grand Harbourside apartment hotel is close to Darling Harbour and within easy walking distance to The Rocks, Opera House, city shopping, restaurants and watering holes. The monorail station is only a few hundred metres away and the Sydney Aquarium is next door.
