“Something different and worth a look”

The hotel is in good condition and everything about the room was fine. The breakfast buffet was basic but quite adequate - note that although they say it doesn't start until 7.30 am, you can show up 15-20 minutes earlier and it will be ready. The real question mark is the location. For Singapore, it felt relatively remote (which is a good thing for Singapore), and the immediate access to the beach and the bars and restaurants is nice. But leave plenty of time if you are going to be commuting. There is a free monorail - a flat 8-minute walk away from the hotel - that connects to the subway system on Singapore proper. Getting a taxi from the hotel can take time, so try to book one in advance.

Area recommendations
Aside from the many new attractions on Sentosa, the colonial Fort Siloso is worth a look. 10 minutes walk from the hotel to the entrance (where a shuttle takes you into the fort proper).

“Busy travelling man from California to few Asian countries”

If you want to stay quiet out of city (especially with children for 2-3 days), this is good for location and price. Also amusement park such as Universal studio or Casino can be reached by free tram in 10 min. Although it is at Sentosa island, you can reach in 20-30 min by taxi from airport easily around U$20-25.- I enjoyed short break transit at country side feeling hotel between city trips. Rooms are small and basic but quite and clean, front is beach, back side big 90 yds long natural look very clean over flowing swimming pool, feels like in jungle. Good for short holidays.

“Moldy”

The hotel was dirty and smelled moldy. There was mold growing on the ceiling in the bathroom. The carpet was very dirty. The beds were very hard and there were no top sheets on the beds. The room was a deluxe but was terribly small and crowded. There was not even a clock in the room. The air conditioning did not work properly. Other guests said their rooms were just as bad. The free breakfast was not so great either. The food was below par. The pool area was very nice though.

Area recommendations
China Town was our favorite. It was full of diversity and excitement. We spent 3 days exploring and shopping in China Town and still not see everything.

“Smelly, Damp, Dank.”

I am very disappointed by our stay at this "resort". The room was damp, dank and smelly.. with the bed linen being so "dank smelling" that we put towels down over the pillows just to try and get some sleep. The bathroom was moldy, and the air-conditioning barely worked meaning the room was a little uncomfortable and sadly humid. Living near the beach myself I understand the challenges of humidity but couldn't believe a "resort" would not be capable of handling them. Whilst the room was dated it was a good size and aside from the smell and humidity and temperature was comfortable. The pool was fantastic and we spent a lot of time in it to get out of our room! The Pool is spring water so it is easy on the eyes. The staff lack the enthusiasm you normally see in resorts, and we found it was best not to ask too much of them. There are a few that are the exception from the rule on this one but not many. It is a real shame.

Area recommendations
Sentosa is an interesting place to visit. The beaches are artificial (sand was brought in from Malaysia and Indonesia) and some of the activities and restaurants are stupidly expensive. Two very average burgers from "Coasties" cost S$50! However once we found the hawker style food market near Tanjong beach our fear about finding decent and affordable food was alleviated. Fort Siloso was excellent and kept us busy for a few hours, as was Universal Studios and the Luge Ride. There is a nightly audio / visual concert called songs of the sea which makes up for being a little cheesy through its excellent audio / visuals. (The $5 extra for comfy premium seats is worth it). The Segway "eco" tour (not sure whats so eco about it) was great fun and allowed us use of Offroad Segways on the very quiet Western Beaches of the island. I would higly suggest you do the Segway tours! (Only for the use of the Segways)

“Definately, can't wait to go back.”

This is the second time I have stayed at Siloso Beach Resort. Staying in the budget rooms, I have found them clean and adequate. Everything worked fine. TV, A/C, international plugs etc. The hotel food is good with a complimentary buffet breakfast, the squirrels cute. The huge tropical garden pool is delightful with poolside towels provided. Beach directly opposite. I asked for a shower curtain to be placed in the bathroom and it arrived within a few hours. There was small amount of mould on ceiling but I understand that the section we stayed in is to undergo renovation. Hope the price doesn't go up! All up I would prefer to stay there rather than the city everytime I go to Singapore. All the delights of Sentosa right on hand. There is a beach tram if you decide not to walk. But just a short walk to the station with free passes between mainland and island given. Quick access to the MRT and great shopping at Vivo-City. Truly a lovely place to stay with great views and service for ordinary travellers.

Area recommendations
I really like staying on Sentosa. There is good access to all Sentosa's delights. Fort Silos is very interesting. Plus Sentosa is just a few minutes from Vivo-City and the wonderful MRT. So many things to see - Raffles Hotel and the Cathedral. Visit the Jurong Bird Park and the Night Safari - expensive but worth it. Changi Prison Museam and Changi Village are not far from the airport. On Route home we dropped our bags at "Left Baggage" at the airport and took the train and bus to these places for a few hours before leaving. A great idea if you have a shortish stopover.
When to go
I have been in both late October and early March and they were both seemed good times. Avoiding school holidays in Singapore might be a good idea.

Sentosa - Merlion Walk, Fort Siloso, Fun activities etc. Jurong Bird Park, Zoo and Night Safari. Expensive but worth it. Raffles Hotel and the Cathedral. Changi Prison Museum and Changi Village.
Shopping
Orchard Road is a must and has a Plaza with markets which are cheap. Little India is also great. Vivo-City is a fantastic complex - its huge and has everything!
Family-friendly activities
Most activites on Singapore are family friendly. Sentosa particularly so. A bike ride on Eastern beach is cheap. Jurong Bird Park, Zoo and Night Safari expensive but worth it.

“"Nice pool shame about the rest"”

This hotel has so much potential. Beautiful pool and surroundings however the buildings are very outdated. The service was very average, our first receptionist was cold, rude and very unfriendly, no sign of a concierge, take your own bags to your room, no hotel information in the rooms, bedding smelled very musty and very hard beds. Breakfast was also very average. It appears that this hotel relies on its beautiful pool and location and puts in no further effort. A big mistake as Sentosa has big competition in hotels. Overall I was disappointed with this hotel and frustrated. Could be a fantastic place but will require a lot of work over a few different areas.

Area recommendations
Sentosa is a great place to visit especially for families. One big playground with Imbiah lookout, Universal studios, Songs of the sea, so much to do here.
Must see
Songs of the Sea, Zip Line, Underwater world, Imbiah lookout at night, during the day the imbiah lookout and walk down the hill is nice but at night it is amazing, Universal Studios, Festival walk and the biggest candy shop in singapore.

“Family Friendly in Singapore”

Siloso Beach resort is a fantastic alternative to staying on the mainland of Singapore. TThe staff are very accommodating & very friendly. This is a great family hotel with family activites on your doorstep & the best pool for kids. This has become my hotel of choice when I'm in Singapore. Go for the deluxe room, the view is worth the extra cost!

“Great away from the CBD”

This was our second time to Singapore and first time to Sentosa Isand. This was a great place to stay as it was relaxing and away from the CBD. However, it was still very easy to access the CBD with the "free" Sentosa Express and the inexpensive and very good metro system. The hotel pool was inviting and there were other activities nearby, if required. For younger people especially this would be a good choice of stay. This mature couple still found it great.

Area recommendations
Sentosa Island for a more relaxing and environmentally friendly stay. Also great for fun activities.

“Great Resort on Sentosa”

We had a great time at Siloso Beach Resort. The location is great and the staff is friendly. When my husband twisted his ankle, the staff was very helpful getting us to the hospital for x-rays, providing ice for him and was overall great. When we needed to go into the city from Sentosa Island, they made sure taxis were there on-time, every time. The atmosphere of the resort is a quiet sanctuary in a very populated, busy place. The beach availability is great and convenience to transportation is wonderful.

Area recommendations
The entire city of Singapore is worthy of the trip. We did the Singapore Flyer, Sands SkyPark, DuckBoat Tour from Suntec city, Universal Singapore, and all the activities on Sentosa (Luge, ZipLine, WaveHouse). Visiting ChinaTown is a great expereience. You'll definitely keep busy!
