“Room is filthy”
Checked in late and was told by a young chap that he upgraded me to best available room. Since I had reserved a Deluxe room, I was looking forward to perhaps a suite. Upon entering the room on the first floor, the carpet had crumbs and candy wrapers. There was no complimentary water as well. I called the front desk and the young chap came & aplologized. He said the crumbs must fell from the ceiling. I asked if there were leaks & he said no. I proceeded to pick up the wrappers and asked how in the hell would these wrappers fell from the ceiling? He then proceeded to speak to me in Catonese which I didn't understand a word. I told him that I didn't want the upgrade and asked for my deluxe room. He said all rooms are fully occupied & said he will ask the maid to vacuum the floor first thing in the morning. After he left, I realized he didn't bring the 2 bottle of water that he promised over the phone. I then walked to the front desk & there was two other hotel guests checking in and receiving the room keys. I got really upset & confronted the young chap. He got defensive and said the upgrade is the largest room with a view (remember I'm staying on the first floor) and that these other guests didn't have windows in their rooms. I told him I didn't care as he was caught lying. Next day, the carpet was vacuumed in one area and other places still have the same crumb/trash. It would be nice that Expedia allows hotel guests to upload photos so other viewers can see the conditions.
“Great Boutique Hotel in Singapore”
Great Hotel, Good Pricing, Convenient Location, Helpful staff - what more can you ask for.
“Nice hotel and at a good price.”
Small hotel off the beaten track. Price was right for me and I was able to walk to the MRT and catch cabs when needed. Spa nearby offers a great massage deal for $88 (90 minutes). I only had one meal at the hotel (eggs benedict) and it was great. No complimentary breakfast. Hotel staff was very accomodating and made the hotel an inviting place to stay.
“Great hotel just outside of the city center with access via public transit”
The hotel is charming and well maintained with a professional and courteous staff. The rooms are rather small so be sure to upgrade if you need space. The location is good since it is close to China town but perhaps some what out of the way for those the want to be in the city center and intend to shop.
“Totally satisfied”
The location was easy to reach from the MRT. Check-in was smooth and we were allowed to access the room well before 2 pm. After a long flight it was brilliant to shower and put up our feet before going out to explore Singapore. Walking was easy with many inexpensive food outlets to tempt us. It was a delightful walk into the river area. The evening swim in the hotel's pool rounded off a splendid day. We took advantage of the cafe's breakfasts before starting each day. The manager, James, was most helpful in suggesting places to visit and where we might find a couple of items we wanted to purchase. Our room was comfortable and we particularly liked being able to open the window and turn off the air conditioning at night times.
“Small boutique hotel experience with Four Season's Service Quality”
It was part of my semi business trip and semi anniversary trip. Given budget and approximate to the downtown, I would highly rate this hotel. The day we got there they know who we are already and helped us to check in in our room. It was a good treat after long hour of flight. It's in the middle of quite interesting historic town called Tiong Bahru. There is a big bird orchestra right front of hotel every Sunday morning also Tiong Bahru Market where you can taste cheap local (but very good) food at a cost of $1 Singapore dollor. Hotel food was also quite yummy and reasonably priced. It would have been nice to have a gym as well but soon after you get here you would regret as there so many places you can walk around and also swim in their beautifully decorated window-walled swimming pool.
“I will come again!”
Good hotel, close to bus stops and with lot of taxes passing by. Good drinks and food. It is easy to walk around and easy to find variety of meals around. It is boutique type of hotel. I will come back and explore more of that area. The room is clean but somewhat small. However it got all kind of amenities in it. For alone traveler it is perfect. Otherwise you might prefer to chose biger room if available. Service was very good and friendly.
