“Good hotel, restaurant nothing fantastic”
The service was pretty stock standard throughout the hotel, the staff were friendly and tried hard, but sometimes lacked professionalism and didn't exactly understand what was being asked of them, especially at the restaurant. I am used to there being language difficulties in Singapore, but in a hotel of this calibre I would expect staff to be better trained. Breakfast service was good, and it was a good buffett breakfast.
“Peaceful and Tranquil”
The Amara is located on Sentosa, 'Asia's favourite Playground!' the Hotel itself is quite well maintained and very peaceful and tranquil even though it is opposite Universal Studios, which is a very simple walk to Imbiah Monorail station and then a to Waterfront Station and you're at Universal. Very easy to get to all areas that you want and take advantage of the Hotel Shuttle bus that takes you to Vivocity - the closest Shopping Centre
“Good hotel on Sentosa Island”
This hotel is a good choice for doing stuff on Sentosa Island but it is little far from the rest of Singapore (although nothing is really that far in Singapore). I would recommend it and use it again.
“Relaxing trip”
The staff were extremely friendly n prompt. We were expecting a balcony in our room though as stated but there wasn't any.
“Tropical luxury”
The Amara looks and feels like a luxury hotel. From the moment we arrived, staff were on hand to attend to our baggage and take them to the room. In our time there, they provided adapters for our electronics, gave us free access to the internet in the business centre and kept the room fresh and clean every day. We were on the third floor and had a magnificent view of the South China Sea. The room was large (king bed), and the windows open wide without a screen, which was nice as you felt very close to the tropical gardens below. Sentosa island is a playground. You can easily spend a couple of days exploring the jungle paths and island attractions. However, there is still development going on, including around the hotel. We did not hear noise in the morning - about the worst was a drill one afternoon. But being on a higher floor, it was barely noticeable. The biggest negative was the price of booze in the vodka bar and Shutter restaurant, which are both part of the hotel. Minimum was about $70 for a bottle of wine, about $12-15 for a beer. Expect to pay this anywhere ON the beaten track though (even a six pack from the store is around $20). Sentosa is definitely designed for tourists, but this comes with positives, such as easy to get around and lots of attractions. The beach bars go right to the sand and the island is lush, tropical and beautiful. It's also quite easy to get into the city (20mins), Little India, Boat Quay to see the authentic stuff too. One of the best.
“Nice place”
Great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD.
“Awful Spa hotel in the middle of a construction site”
Unless you really want to be in sentosa, don't bother with this hotel. Not only is it out of the way for everything else, it is not peaceful.. right in the middle of construction. the room was quite disgusting. The sofa had hair from places you don't want to think about, and stains. Absolutely disgusting. Told the front staff about it twice, but they didn't do much about it. Service isn't great either. no one goes out of their way to help. not sure if it is part of the singapore service or just this hotel.
“Nice hotel to stay”
It's great to have proper sign for facilities eg. pools, gym... Although the materials used in the hotel are of relatively high standard, it would have been better if the maintenance were to be kept at the same level.
“Too new”
Staff made me pay twice. It's a familiy retreat / wedding / event hotel. For a business traveller not suitable.
