“Great hotel ideal for the marathon”
I stayed in this hotel whilst visiting Inverness for the Loch Ness Marathon. It is ideally located for the marathon as you are very close to the event site and the runners pass the hotel just before the finish. I would also recommend it generally as it is in a beautiful location and has great sized rooms. The bathroom was massive and had a great shower and the beds were huge and comfy.
“Glen Mhor and Eden Court - a Perfect Partnership”
This was my first time in Inverness and the choice of hotel was fortuitous. Just across the river from it lies the Eden Court Theatre where so much is going on in an extensive programme of theatre, dance, cinema and lots more, all in a beautiful setting overlooking the river. The hotel is fabulously located and it's worth paying that bit extra for the view and proximity to town and riverside. Pleasant walking along the river starts on the hotel's doorstep and continues upstream through some lovely wooded green public space connected to the opposite bank via a series of footbridges and the area outside and opposite the hotel is discretely lit up at night along with the castle just down from the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent in a comfortable, light, airy room with a good selection of fare from which to choose. The Glen Mhor provided a brilliant start to our holiday in the Highlands and I wouldn't hesitate to return. Our room, overlooking the river, was clean and very spacious, though the colour scheme was rather muted and neutral. The bar is cosy and there's a small, but very comfortable lounge overlooking the river where it's a pleasure to sit and read. The wall lights in the dining room look suspiciously like off-cuts from copper stills. Could they be from the now long gone Glen Mhor distillery that used to exist as one of three that used to operate in the city?
“hogmany stay”
we had a very pleasent stay at the glen mohr hotel over the new year period. the food and service was excellent. the only problem we had was the shower had no hot water but there was no chance of getting a plumber at that time of year and there was a bath anyway. we would certainly consider staying at the glen mohr again.
“Not value for money”
Hotel was nice enough, staff friendly, location best selling point, but I don't think priced matched hotel for price per night you could book a much nicer hotel Needs upgrading
“expensive hotel in Inverness - better cities to visit elsewhere in Scotland”
While the hotel was fairly clean, the room was extremely small and the whole hotel was very poorly maintained. The bathroom was too small and the shower cubicle was even smaller with black mould around the base.
“Fantastic location, maintenance and service substandard.”
What a beautiful location next to the river. Dining was very good. We had a large room centrally located on the second floor overlooking the river. The staff was cordial but when we had problems were nonresponsive. Our first night was perfect, dinner and a long walk. The second night the management had booked a reception directly below our room in the dining room. We returned from a long day out to dance music emitting from speakers three feet below our bedroom. No consideration to us at all. When I asked the management how late this was going to last I was told 11PM. Music went till 11:30 and then the clean noise lasted till midnight. In the morning we woke up to wet bath towels. I called and asked for fresh towels and finally went down to ask again. There had obviously been leakage from above onto the towels. After we showered (thankfully) water started pouring in to the bathroom from above and rendering the bathroom unusable. A maintenance man was summoned, could do nothing and no effort to clean up the water was made. We were asked if we wanted to change to another room, however, the experience here had quickly deteriorated. My wife and I appreciate the celebration of a wedding the night before, after all, we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. We did not appreciate the lack of consideration for the imposition on our stay, the lack of communication or the apparent disconcertment of the facility issues.
