“Better than expected”
I wasn't expecting much from this 2* accomodation but was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is a bit isolated but there is a bus stop at the end of the road with regular rides to Thira and it's easy to get to and from here. Although not much to do where hotel is located..some other hotels nearby for nice lunches and great restaurant on the beach towards Kamari. The Hotel is very close to airport but once you get used to planes flying over it's not that bad. Not any facilities at the hotel but it's very clean and the pool area is great to chill in with a good book. Pool is lovely too. Not a place to take kids..nothing to do for them. Great place to stay for a relaxing week in the sun to chill/read and take the odd excursion. Lots of Italians!!
“Peaceful and lovely location - just what we needed!”
The hotel was absolutely delightful and Nota (the owner) really takes care of you. The sea is super close and the pool is divine. It is on the quieter side of the island but this did not detract from our holiday. We did not have any transportation and took buses which were extremely convenient. Also, though the airport is in very close proximity the planes are not intrusive, but it's rather exciting to see them take off and land. An excellent holiday!
“Quiet and relaxing”
Very quiet, lovely pool, small but comfortable rooms with air con. Couple of sensibly priced tavernas within easy stroll along the beach (5 minutes walk). Very near to the airport but this wasn't intrusive. Fairly basic breakfast - bread and jam - and no tea making facilities in room. Very pleasant manager and staff, local buses to Fira easy to use and reasonably frequent. Car for couple of days was plenty to see the whole of this attractive island - Fira and Io were interesting for a wander and good places to eat. Our only complaint in 10 days holiday ( August 2010) was taxi prices from airport to resort and back (£10 + each way for 5 minute journey) - worth arranging to pick up or drop car at airport. Not a place for those seeking lots of nightlife and tavernas - absolutely great if you want peaceful, relaxing quiet holiday.
“Blue Bay Villa's Santorini”
If you want a really quiet peaceful and immaculately clean hotel, this is the place for you. The proprietor - "Nota" - is just lovely. Helpful, accommodating and kind. The hotel is small (26 rooms) family run and spotlessly clean. The only tiny criticism is that the breakfast is very limited. Tea, Coffee, fruit squash, Greek yoghurt with honey, bread, butter and conserves and it's the same every day. This was fine for us but may be limited for people used to all inclusive buffet style. We went to the local shop 2 minutes walk away and bought fruit to supplement. We were there the first week in June. The weather was fab and we spent a few days either by the pool or on the beach (2 mins away) - VERY QUIET and Peaceful. We hired a quad bike for 3 days and went all over the island. Alos went on a boat trio one day which was mazing value and beautiful, stopping off at various points including the volcano and swimming in the hot springs. Don't worry about the Hotel's proximity to the Airport. It's really not a problem. I promise you,you don't even notice!! Hotel is really suited to couples. Enjoy this paradise Island and simple and quite hotel. x
“good value, quiet place”
all good expect breakfast, swimming pool was great, nice owner.
“Value for money”
Upon arrival a slight misunderstanding with the room having two single beds rather than a double on booking we paid and booked for a double but we had a room with two singles as they had seemed to over book.."...this is peak season ! Was the response even though we had booked 3 months in advance the next morning requesting a room change we got one after someone else checked out. The hotel was close to the beach and very quiet the pool is great. The staff were helpful and friendly. If you stay here u will need to hire a scooter or atv to get around would recommend got to the love boat bar at Kamari beach about 5minutes drive great bar friendly good atmosphere. Overall this hotel was great value for money , had clean rooms , the bar grudges need to be colder
“Got the blues at Blue Bay Villas, Santorini”
The rooms are terribly designed and are tiny....the bathroom ends even before it begins. The location....lesser said the better....at one corner of the island, which is far away from any action the city has to offer. The breakfast buffet is appalling and has nothing to offer expect for bread, cornflakes and coffee. Bad idea to pick this hotel
