“Nice little place.”

It was difficult to find because we drove but we really enjoyed staying there. Its located in a small village and that was nice to see the daily lifestyle of the locals. It closeness to the train station was a plus. The staff was friendly and spoke English, a plus. Overall good experience!

Area recommendations

Don't know a lot of areas of Paris, but St. Maur was definitely a good area to stay in. It was safe and pleasant.

When to go

We went in June and it was a little chilly at first but by the end of the month it was a little warm. Perfect time to go.

Getting around

We rented a car and that was the best decision. Even though we took to the train to go into Paris to see the major sights, the car gave us the freedom to go anywhere we wanted to when we wanted to. We definitely recommend you have a navigation system if you drive. It was the best money we spent and it got us around without getting lost, thus giving us more time to enjoy.

Dining

Being from America, I enjoy my traditional breakfast, but in France and the rest of Europe, everyone eats sandwiches for breakfast. Didn't care for that too much still had the "when in Rome" attitude and enjoyed it. Food is expensive, so we tried some vendor food and some nice dining. They don't give free refills on drinks, so beware.

Other

Beware! In Europe you have to pay to use the toilets. It can cost anywhere from .40 to 1.50 euro and that can add up. Also, Italy and France have toll roads which can be very costly, that is if you are driving. We spent about 250 euros on tolls within 5 days of travel. We weren't ready for that cost but we had the money for this kind of unforseen expense.

“Worst Hotel in Paris!”

My wife and I planned a trip to Paris for a few months and we decided on this hotel for our stay in France. We had high hopes for a fun time in Paris until we got to this hotel. To say that it was a nightmare after first stepping foot in this hotel would be an understatement. Do not be fooled from anything you see in pictures of this hotel! It is a lot worse in person! It may appear like a good deal from the air conditioning, LCD TV, and free parking. For starters, the AC is a joke and does not even work! The LCD TV in a bright spot but not much to talk about considering the room is the size of a closet. The room we stayed in was very dirty. There were stains and hairs in the bed and the bathroom had a foul stench to it. One of the main reasons my wife and I chose this hotel was for the free parking. Upon check in I was told there was a 4 Euro charge a day for parking! The hotel staff was the most rude and unfriendly I have ever encountered from all my travels. Needless to say my wife and I checked out after 1 night ( we originally booked 5 nights at this hotel) and stayed at the Air Plus that had cold AC, Free Parking, a very friendly staff, close to the train station, and was much cheaper than this hotel. I just hope this review can spare anyone from ever having to waste time, money, and happiness on this awful hotel. Paris, France is an amazing place for a vacation. Do not let this hotel ruin your vacation as much as it did for me and my wife!
