“Business man's special”

I had family from Europe stay at our local Hampton Inn, and I was very impressed with the staff, the service, and the room. The front desk treated us all as family. So when I found myself travelling to Sacramento recently I immediately looked to book at a Hampton Inn. I had a similar experinece. The staff was very professional and curteous. The room was ready and clean(my family and I love their linen.) You can not beat the breakfast, no hard roll and frozen pat of butter here. It is a full on hot breakfast, with a multitude of choices. And I had the impression that snacking was not only allowed but encouraged throughout the day. When ever I travel now, I first look to check if a Hampton Inn is available.

“Okay Hotel, Terrible Location”

After I finally found my way through a very seedy part of town, with the help of a kind desk clerk, the hotel itself was quite decorative, clean and pleasant. Hard to overemphasize the hard-to-find and seedy location, especially for someone not familiar with the area. The other beef I had was the coffee maker that didn't work and took two days to get one that did. An initial call down to the front desk was unsuccessful, as there was no one there to answer. The breakfast downstairs was tasty, though why can't anyone make good coffee? And though I was sure I saw a workout room in the online brochure, there was none once I got there. Disappointing, overall.
