“Lovely, quiet and onvenient hotel”
Located in a quiet yet lively suburb of Barcelona, this hotel was exactly what we needed. After days of road tripping, it was a pleasure to leave our car in the private parking (~5 euros/d) and use the good train services and our feet as well. It's about 5-10 minutes of easy walking from the train station, then a half an hour untill you reach Plaza Catalunya on the conveniently frequent train. The hotel is designed nicely, not too fancy but far from looking tacky. The reception personnel were kind and explained with great patience about getting arround and practically anything we wanted to know (e.g. WIFI is free; just ask for the password!). The room was spacious enough, being standard in all aspects. The big windows to the terrace's grass somehow compensate the very limited view of the area. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel. 2 drawbacks though: Stream temprature in the shower was changing without any early warning; and although we hung the "please clean up the room" knob-sign early in the morning, no one had done it and when we came back in the afternoon we found the scene as we left it. The town center is alive and some places are open untill late even on weekdays; consider making your shopping there instead in the tourist-traps in Barcelona. You can walk, use the bus or take your own car to get there. So, if walking and using public transport don't scare you, this is a good substitue (and most probably cheaper one) for the crowded hotels in downtown Barcelona.
“Cute and Chic”
I stayed here in July 2010 and thought the hotel was very nice and the staff was very friendly and always available to answer any questions or give directions. There were plenty of nearby restaurants and markets within walking distance. The hotels rates were also reasonable. The only cons were that the wireless internet did not work all the time and the distance from all of the tourist attractions in Barcelona. There are two different train stations that will take you to the areas in Barcelona where you can get on the regular metro the train ride is about 30 minutes. The train stations are walking distance but it is rather difficult when you are carting luggage. On my way there I had to take a cab and when leaving I took a bus to the train station. If you don't mind the long commute to Barcelona its okay but if you are looking to experience Barcelona night life this is not the hotel for you because the metro and trains close after midnight. When I booked this hotel I did not realize how far it was. However the town of Sabadell itself is really cute and there is a restaurant a block away called Casa Flores that has the best Sangra and patatas bravas.
“Not close to city center but nice place”
I love the style of this place. I am a big fan of all things art-deco so I thought this was a very nice looking hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful and my room was ultra-clean. The climate control was more than adequate. Nice bathroom with plenty of clean towels and toiletries. I only had a glass of wine at the bar, but it was good and the young lady who poured it was very friendly and personable. The rates for everything in the hotel, from parking to restaurant to mini-bar were much more reasonable than the hotel we stayed at in Madrid. To get to/from Barcelona, you can take the train. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk, slightly uphill from the train station and the train takes about 30 minutes to reach the city center. It can be a bit tough at the end of a long day, so it may not be for everyone. There is a super cheap market right next door for snacks and there are several restaurants nearby, though I only tried one (they all serve pretty much the same food anyway- ham, eggs, ham, fried potatoes, ham, calamari, etc). I only wish the rest of Barcelona had been as kind and friendly as the people at this place.
“nice stay”
hotel is quiet, cooperative staff ,clean rooms good room services, reasonable prices,a bit difficult transportation by late night
“Nice Hotel but unfriendly staff”
Clean and good value for money hotel with unfriendly staff. I had to repeatedly remind front desk to get an Iron Box and still couldn't get it.
“Apartment Arrahona not connected”
I loved the hotel with the exception of the internet not working the entire nine days I was there. For a business traveler this is unacceptable. But if you're not there for business and really don't need to be in connected, it's a great place. The beds were bit hard, but the overall experience for the price was good.
“Didn't expect it to be as great as it was!”
Stayed for over a week last month, as I had some university research at Terrassa. Far from Barcelona center, but if you have a car or don't mind 35-45 min by public transit, it's great value. The hotel is run by 4 or 5 courteous ladies who seem cross-trained to do everything (I only saw one gentleman there, mostly at nights). A couple of them spoke good English. The main two items I needed were internet and parking (I had a car and I had to be logged on for hours; they would be an extra 25 per day in many hotels). Had FREE wireless internet, good speed, in the room. May be a recent thing, as others here said it was free only in the lobby. Need to renew the internet passwd every 48 hours from front desk. Can park free on the small block of streets around; many spots, no parking meters. Safe area. The rail stn is about 10-15 min walk. The breakfast was pretty filling - 6.50 Euros, with hot eggs and sausage. The kitchen or front desk ladies will whip up a dinner till pretty late at night for around 12 Euros - Pastas, pizzas, hot bread and coffee/wine. Not bad if you are lazy to go out. Can get a good cafe con leche 24 hours; Great for late-night types like me. Clean room, though the beds weren't too big and the mattress not too thick. 15-channel TV with CNN and BBC. I got everything I wanted; Certainly won't stay anywhere else on a return visit to the Barcelona area!
“Great hotel”
A very nice hotel with clean rooms, cool sheets and good ammenities. One of the best bargains we've found in Europe. The only concern I should mention is that although the hotel room/apartment had a fully furnished kitchen, it lacked any utensils or cooking tools, plates, bowls, silverware, etc... That surprised us but we managed by eating baked pizzas and eggrolls with our hands. We would definitely stay here again - but the next time we'll bring some kitchen necessities.
“Very clean and comfortable”
We had a nice stay. The room was vey clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to those who don't mind traveling ca. 25 min. to Barcelona city center by train,
“pleasant stay”
the hotel is very pleasant and the decoration is modern and original. the rooms are fairly big and clean. the service is fine, by the front desk persons not always speak good english. the only downside is the location, which is far from the center of Barcelona (around 40 minutes by train). the train staion is almost a mile away from the hotel, so be prepared for a walk. the neighborhood is quite and safe but not so easy to find a place to eat after 9 pm. I would definetely reccomend this hotel if you want an economic place just to rest, while you enjoy the beautiful Barcelona.
