Awesome resort for familiesPosted 02/12/2013
Pros: The concierge service, the pool views and the beach.
Cons: A better selection of deserts would be good. Also, if there were more activities tailored to children in the tween years, I would have rated this 5.
Location: The location was great. Sunny days everyday and the beach was only a golf cart ride away. Snorkeling, parasailing, kayaking, etc. available.
Our concierge, Katherine Fernandez was superb. She was more than accommodating without being intrusive. She was available at any time we needed her and seemed to anticipate our every need. She prepared bubble baths in the jacuzzi for my son and brought him a strawberry scented pillow. We had treats left in our room every night. Definitely bring mosquito spray. Also, most of the television stations are in Spanish. There are a few channels on the higher stations that are in English. Bring singles to tip the staff when experiencing extremely good service. It is not required or even expected, but change is hard to come by there, so you might want to bring your own. I didn't have change and only tipped at the end of the vacation. Everyone I encountered still gave us excellent service.

Great stay in the DR!Posted 02/12/2013
Pros: Gorgeous resort!
Cons: Better restaurant quality. Not bad at all, but not up to the rest of the resort standards.
Location: We really enjoyed the dolphin swim at Manati Park, but it is a tourist trap so beware. The dolphin swim though was great!
Wow! Great resort in Punta Cana. We spent a lot of time trying to find family-friendly places to go to on vacation and this place was always at the top of the list. We signed up for the Family Concierge and were really happy with our concierge, Anabell, but I would only recommend a family concierge for families with young children. The only negative from our trip was the push from various staff on the sales pitch regarding the Melia Club. We were actually wanting (and willing) to join, but there was an obvious rivalry between staff on getting people to sign up for the Club. Other than that, the resort is absolutely gorgeous. The restaurants are above average, not great. The rooms are tended too properly. There are lots of different activities at the resort and of course within the Punta Cana area. The spa, Yhi Spa, is top notch and definitely worth a visit. We ended up signing up with Melia Club and are planning to come back next year. And we can't wait to come back either!

reserve at paradisus palma realPosted 02/12/2013
Cons: signage, check-in process
we had a pleasant stay at the resort. i must say that it was quite confusing and difficult to understand which of the 3 resorts was my booking. we ended up calling and also showing up at the check in counter of the the other resort....not a big deal as the 3 properties are on ONE LARGE plot. the staff was truly amazing and always acted in a respectful and helpful way. Not one interaction with any staff was less than stellar. the overall property is nice and well managed. the food and drinks were fine with a great deal of choices. better check-in (at the reserve, they only have 2 counters) and more clear explanation of the 3 different resorts and their differences would have been helpful. their website states--airport transfers included however that is not the case when we called they asked us to take a cab. room 5005 is not a good room. loud machinery noise in the living room from adjacent utility room. shower area in bathroom has no splash guard and the entire bathroom and bedroom would be wet after every shower. they didnt do a good job of informing/encouraging us to make reservations at restaurants on property...most of them didnt have a table. we learnt this the hard way although room service was quite nice overall, recommend this property.

Great hotel to relax!!!Posted 26/11/2013
Pros: Almost everything
Cons: Food taste.
Location: Never leaved the hotel
My wife and I had satyed at The Reserve Punta Cana and now at The Reserve Palma Real. All I can say is that if you are looking for a quick getaway to relax, this is the right place to go!! The service, room comfort, cleanliness are amazing, hotel staff is very friendly and they will do anything to keep you happy. The food is great but it could be better. I will give a 7 to the food but is very abundant. You can eat and drink 24/7 !!!!

Paradisus really feels like paradisePosted 24/11/2013
Pros: Very carefully maintained but created so that nature's beauty was part of the experience. Excellent food, swimming, staff care, cleanliness, beauty.
Cons: The shared computers at the reception are not well maintained, worn out keyboards, slow service, Spanish keyboards etc. Bring your own for the WiFi.
Location: The advantage of The Reserve: it is more family oriented, no shopping places, sheltered from wind off Atlantic ( which is 5 minutes away.)
I credit the ownership, the architect, the staff and the cooperation of the weather and the people of the Dominican of creating the experience of paradise. I would love to return and the same is true of everyone in the party of 4. We will live off the good memories until we can return again. Did not get good service from Expedia re the matter of airport to resort and return. Worked out but there were issues.

Pros: Food and drinks were good. Probably the best lobby bar area we have experienced on vacation.
Cons: Shower door, make a path between end of bed and TV.
Too far from the beach, not adult only as expected, shower left entire bathroom like a lake, Concierge not much help, other than trying to sell you more of the hotel or Brand.

Best all-inclusive in Dominican RepublicPosted 22/11/2013
Cons: More variety in the restaurants. Better selection of restaurant themes.
Location: We just stayed at the resort--It was so beautiful we didn't want to leave!!!
Just returned from the Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real and it was FANTASTIC!!!!! The hotel and grounds are the most beautiful I have ever seen in a resort. I have been to many all inclusive resorts in Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic and I have to say, this place was the nicest. In fact, last year we went to the Iberostar Grand in both Mexico and Punta Cana , and , although we liked them both, they did not compare to the Reserve. What makes the Reserve so special are the rooms, the service, and the incredibly maintained grounds, The rooms are all suites which are very contemporary and well decorated----much nicer than just having a room at one of the other all inclusive resorts. We had a jacuizi in our bathroom, another on our patio, and still another in the pool which we had private access to from our room!!!----We're going back next year---Forget about the other resorts----This is the best one out there!!!
