"We enjoyed our short stay at La Recoleccion. It was within walking distance of our volcano boarding tour and the cathedral. The AC worked great, and beds were comfortable. However, there was zero hot water and the shower fills up like a swimming pool. There is no 24 hour front desk, so if you have to leave super early like we did, prepare for a pitch black lobby. "

"Great value for the area. Gustavo at the front desk is a star. Super helpful and courteous. We had two different rooms during our stay. The first didn’t have a/c but we were provided 3 fans which was fine. The second was a very large room with a/c overlooking the front courtyard. "If you are a backpacker this might be okay for you, but was bad for us. The rooms are extremely hot with no AC and a small fan that does nothing. Leon is the hottest city in the country, and also breakfast was not included in room price. Cannot recommend, although staff seemed friendly and location was good."

"First off, nobody speaks any English, so make sure your Spanish is good. The rooms, furniture and fixtures were highly used at best. There was only intermittent water made available for drinking and I had to go to the nearby hostel to fill my water bottle. Meal service was shaky and the staff seemed put out every time you asked for something.
