“room with a view”
beautiful room in a beautiful place friendly people. had a lovely stay
“Quaint countryside B&B type hotel”
Christina and Gabriel, the owners, did a great job! They were very helpful with local day trip planning. They did everything they could to make our stay an enjoyable one. Definitely a great getaway in the countryside!
“Great place”
Staying here was one of the best decision that we made. The rooms are very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome. The hotel faces the Arno River and has a great view from it's outdoor patio. It was a welcome break from the crowds and noise of Florence. If there is anything bad that I can say is that you need a car to get to the train station. Overall, our week there was a great experience.
“Lovely new villa”
The Villa was built in 2005, so it is nice and new. It is traditional Tuscan style, and run by a lovely Italian husband and Swedish wife (who speaks many languages). They serve a nice European breakfast for 6 Euros. Dinner is a bit pricier (about 35 Euros per person), but was delicious. It is out of the way and peaceful, but not far from Florence.
“Very nice hotel”
This hotel is beautiful, I would like go back again. The hotel by itself is an atraccion because the way that was built, but is a little bit far from the city and most of the meeting points for the tours. Due to this, it is a little expensive for the taxis that we have to pay. I would recommend to include a shuttle to pick up and take back to the hotel the travelers, speccialy if the tour is finished at night, this makes more difficult to get a taxi.
“Lovely Villa”
This Villa was very nice. They had a nice restaurant on the bottom floor where the mother of the owner made some great food. Nice, quiet and relaxing. It was gorgeous. Great view and nice rooms. The woman that works the office speaks great english which is a plus in Tuscany. The only knocks were that the bed was hard as a rock, and it's not easy to get to Florence from the hotel. It was a 25 euro cab ride just to get to the closest train station that goes to Florence. Next time I would spend a few days IN Florence before coming back.
“Nice hotel in a rural location”
Pros: - the room was clean and comfortable - great value for the money - service was great - quiet, rural setting Cons: - the hotel is being expanded and view toward the valley is somewhat spoiled by the construction - mosquitos were pretty bad this August Other: - if you have a car this hotel is a great bargain. Our stay cost a fraction of what we would have to pay for this standard in Florence.
“hotel la malva”
this small hotel is pleasant enough, ditto the owner, with lovely views of the Tuscan countryside, but falls down on three points:- 1. the heating is only turned on remotely by the owners at approx 7.30 pm and this is unsatisfactory on cold rainy April late afternoons, 2. much of the premises is an unfinished building site (the owners are creating 8 extra bedrooms plus swimming pool), and 3. the candle-lit dinners available on the two evenings we unwisely decided to dine in were served in a cold dining room and consisted of unappetising pasta & sauce, 'plastic' meat whether chicken or pork, straight out of the deep-freeze, which we were too hungry not to eat on our arrival & which we left mostly uneaten on the second occasion
