“Very Nice;”

Room was small and elevator was small. But we liked everything else: Location was very convenient (close to several Metro stations: Madeleine, Opera and Concorde); walking distance to Lourve, Orsay… Room was clean. Service was good. All staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Dining
Turn left after you get out the hotel. You will find a hub of Japanese restaurants just over 1 and 1/2 block. We tried one, which was very good.

“Excellent location & value”

Few rooms make for a quaint stay - friendly and helpful staff - comfortable rooms and free WiFi. Very central location to major tourist sights, train station, shopping district and restaurants

“Very impressed”

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Great location; very close to Place Vendome, the Opera House, and the Louvre. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that the staff weren't very helpful when I asked them to recommend restaurants for breakfast and dinner. However, the hotel provides a breakfast buffet which is very good (boiled eggs, pancakes, pastries, meats, toast, nutella, fruit, yogurt, etc). Our hotel room was very clean and spacious and had a flat screen tv. The bathroom was huge with a jacuzzi tub. On our last day the shower had a problem and did not give us hot water. They fixed the problem within an hour and they let us check out of our hotel at a later time without getting charged so that we could finally use the shower. Good customer service. I would definitely stay there again.

Getting around
The metro is an easy and inexpensive way to get around town in comparison to cabs!! If you don't have a lot of luggage consider taking the metro from the airport to this hotel. Our cab ride from the airport was 60 Euros which was pretty pricey. There is a metro stop very close to this hotel.

“Best Paris Boutique Hotel”

This is a great hotel, small but in a great location. Our room was very comfortable, great bed and pillows. The bathroom was good, plenty of hot water and well lit. The staff were very knowledgeable. Across the street is a great place for breakfast and breakfast in thye hotel was also good. Not far away is the Place St Honore which has several really nice restaurants. The metro, Les Pyramides isn't far away (about a ten minute stroll). The lift is small so two people and two suitcases fill it. It was very quiet hardly heard any of the other guests. We will definately stay here again.

Area recommendations
I don't know what area this hotel is in but it is centrally located. An easy walk to the Louvre, Champs Elysee, L'Opera etc plus The Forum.
Getting around
You need good walking shoes as the cobble stones can really cause problems. A metro pass is great, buy the tickets in pack of ten and you can go all over Paris, remember to keep the ticket on you as you need to get out the gate the other end with it but you can swap from one line to another without using another ticket plus you can use it on the RER trains. Just follow the colour of the metro line on the walls and look up the station name at the end of the line of the direction you are going in and you won't get lost.
What to pack
If you are from Australia and buy your clothes in the chain shops then you will find Paris expensive because they don't have them. I would still say pack as little as possible. They do have a C&A store which is well priced and good quality for that price. Pack clothes you can layer as it can get very windy and go from quite warm to quite cold, quickly. Pack good walking shoes, a real must because even if you use the metro you can walk a long way between stations, plus if you visit the museums you will be on your feet for hours.
Must see
The Louvre (of course), Musee Marmottan for Monet plus some Degas, Renoir and others. La Orangerie for the beautiful Monet panels. Musee Cluny for the fabulous "Lady and the Unicorn' Tapestries (set of six). Saturday outdoor food market at Rue President Wilson, the freshest produce possible, plus you can buy bread and cheese and fruit. They even arrange the green beans in rows
Dining
The Parisians eat late, about 9pm and there are lots of restaurants to choose from in each district. The meals everywhere we ate were good, no complaints at all and the prices compared to Australia were about the same.

“Even Better Than Expected”

We chose this hotel because of the reviews we read on Exedia. We were not disappointed. Sure, it's not the best hotel in Paris, but it was very comfortable, conveniently located, small and intimate, and the staff were all very friendly and very helpful. We would gladly stay in this hotel should we be lucky enough to visit Paris again.

Area recommendations
Tuileries Quarter. Conveniently located and close to the Metro.

“Very nice hotel in Paris”

I moved to this hotel when I was not happy another hotel that I was orginally booked to stay and was very happy with the change. For Mercure it is a smaller property, but in very good condition with very helpful staff and a nice breakfast. The room size was very good for a mid-priced hotel in the middle of Paris and the bath/shower were very clean and updated. Internet service was a bit slow (perhaps many neighbors tapping into free access?) and the desk/workspace is not really meant for a business traveller, but overall it was a very good experience and I would go back when I am in Paris Tip: Go see the english show "How to become Parisian in One Hour"

“Small hotel, great value”

This is a small hotel with nice rooms in a great location just off Place Vendome. Easy to walk everywhere and lots of restaurants nearby. Forget the expensive breakfast -- there are several coffee/pastry shops nearby where you can get wonderful coffee and croisants for a few Euros. We've stayed here twice and will return again when next in Paris. A good value.

“Great location at a good price”

What a great location. Walking distance to almost everything and also close to the metro. The reception area, entrance and lift are tiny, but the room was a great surprise. Roomy (by capital city standards) and very comfortable and very clean. Another surprise was tea and coffee making facilities - a rarity in Europe. There is a great little patiserie across the road that serves good coffee, excellent pastries and they even do eggs. Also nice to have robes supplied. All in all a good experience and if we are lucky enough to return again to Paris I will stay there.

“Great location. Great value.”

We picked this based on another review we read here on Expedia. I can confirm that the location is great not only for proximity to sites and the Metro but also proximity to the Roissy Bus which you can take from the airport. We arrived on Saturday morning and the bus took only 30 minutes to get into town. We were dropped off near the Opera House which was a block from the hotel. The room was a good sized for European standards, bath was also large and clean. There is a street of about 12 outdoor cafes just a 1/2 block from the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.
