"Built in the 1500’s this place has been modernized for comfort. Beautiful remote area. Wonderful staff running the place. Great views! Quaint little bar on the first floor that offers cocktails and meats and cheeses. Very comfortable large king room. There is a library where one can relax and read or play games.Breakfast was very European with eggs cooked to order. Keep in mind there are stairs and no lift to keep the history alive.This place will forever be imbedded in my heart."

"The bartenders and servers are the most amazing pleasant people at hotel. I can’t say the same to the check in front desk . I payed one night before check Out, but when I dropped the key next morning she keep saying was not pay yet, very embarrassed for us until she check to another computer and say: oh ok . I can see now . Very embarrassed for us in front to another guest . The dinner first 2 nights was great . Last 2 nights, Thursday and Friday was very disappointed for us and next tables . "

"Hotel is redelijk maar niet meer dan dat. Simpele kamer waar de koffers op de bank moeten worden geplaatst. Daardoor is er geen comfortabele plek meer om te zitten. Ontbijt is zich OK maar men kan merken dat hierop wordt getracht te sparen: weinig brood en beleg. Gedurende onze 3 weekse trip veel betere (4*) hotels gehad tegen een aanzienlijk lagere prijs. Bij het uitchecken werd -volgens het hotel per ongeluk- getracht ons een >30% hogere prijs in rekening te brengen dan waarvoor was geboekt....

"Wonderful staff, beautiful hotel, fantastic location. Five minutes walk from train station. The only problem was that the air conditioner was difficult to maintain at a comfortable temperature for sleeping so we were hot at night. The staff tried to help and gave us a fan which did help some. The problem was that the temperature had to be controlled at the front desk with a computer. The night manager came to our room and tried multiple times to fix it on the computer but it didn’t work. We are used to a cool sleeping temperature at home do the nights were a bit difficult. However, everything else about the hotel is excellent so we would stay here again. "
