"There is simply no better place to stay in San Antonio near - practically on - the Riverwalk. The rooms at Hotel Contessa are spacious, modern and clean. All the usual amenities are available plus extras like luxury beddings. Our room came with a fantastic view of the river above marriage island. At night the little boats floated past with colored lights making it a peaceful and pleasant visual treat. By far and away the best part of this superb hotel were the people who delivered over the top service, friendliness and professionalism. From the front desk to housekeeping to the restaurant staff all were way above average. But the group that was absolutely world class - as in I've never experienced this level of service from this part of a hotel was the Valet team. These fine men would hustle back and forth getting our car and do so the moment they saw us walk out the door. They were friendly, efficient and ran like a well oiled machine. When we had questions on directions they went out of their way to make sure we knew where we were going. Our rental car was kept spotless inside and out and everyone of them never hestitated to help with a bag or luggage. A finer group of people in this line of hospitality work you will not find anywhere. To top it all off the rate we paid was slightly less than hotels that did not have as good a location or spacious rooms offered at the Contessa. Without a doubt we will always stay here on future trips to San Antonio "

"The only issue I had was that the phone in the room was not working, I discovered this when I tried calling the front desk because my thermostat it the room had stopped working, because it needed new batteries. They came and fixed the thermostat...and attempted to repair the phone, but I didn't need it anyway...but overall great hotel...thank you"

"I was looking for a hotel near the Henry B. Convention Center for a conference I was attending in downtown San Antonio, TX and went with the Kimpton Santo. I have never been so pleased with a hotel choice! This is now my go-to place when I want to "get away". My hotel experience from Valet, to Check-in to arrival to my room was excellent. The hotel staff was extremely helpful, professional, informative, courteous, and made me feel welcome! The room was just perfect for what I needed. The hotel is in an excellent location, quiet, with good views, and has the perfect balance of luxury, comfort, privacy, and other accessible amenities or nearby places to visit. The lobby level of the hotel has a social area, a bar/eatery, and there is a fine dining restaurant. The tenth floor has a roof top pool, fitness facility, and a roof top bar with a spectacular view of downtown San Antonio. Each room is designed with a cross between purposeful comfort with simplicity and a contemporary decor with a stylish flair. I value location, peace, comfort, privacy, and style, and Kimpton Santo provides ALL of that! I can't wait until my next visit! Thank you for a wonderful and inviting stay! L. McKenzie"

"I definitely like the location its just in the heart of Riverwalk, a little noisy but its understandable for summer vacation and kids, the only thing is because it has not free breakfast is more expensive that other good hotels, other than that we fully recommend it."
