The MOMA1890 Boutique Hotel is a little hidden, but it is conveniently located just across from the Ostbanhof train station. The buffet breakfast was expensive (20 Euros), and the elevator was tiny, but the room was comfortable and relatively quiet, and the staff very helpful. Recommended as a convenient 3 star option.

This hotel was wonderful for our Munich stay. Literally steps from the Munich Ost train station it couldn't have been more convenient when arriving by train and leaving to the airport by S8. Clean, quiet, modern with friendly staff. Neighborhood has many great restaurants within walking distance. And they will sell you a public transport day pass ticket at the front desk for the tram that stops at the front door.

Fantastic hotel. One of the best we’ve come across in Germany. Spacious, clean and comfortable room, with a good shower too! Hotel has a lounge with free snacks and drinks too. Staff were very friendly. Location is obviously at a main train station so all sorts of people around but didn’t feel unsafe and was very convenient to get trams and trains to major attractions. Also has good shops and food around the hotel. Would have loved some English language entertainment channels on the tv.

The only place to stay in Munich!

MOMA was perfect in every way! The staff was kind and enormously helpful. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There is free mineral water any time you want. Also snacks. And self service beer and wine is very reasonably priced—like a half bottle of red wine for 5 Euros. The Ost train station is right at the hotel, so you can easily get anywhere in Munich. You won’t be disappointed!

My stay at MOMA 1890 Hotel was a fairly good experience overall. The hotel had some great aspects, but also a few drawbacks. The biggest highlight was the comfortable bed with high-quality linens, which made for a great night’s sleep. The bathroom was modern and well-designed, which I really appreciated. However, despite booking a Junior Suite, I found the room to be quite small, which was a bit disappointing as I expected more space. The location was excellent for work, being right next to a subway station, which made getting around the city incredibly convenient. While it was perfect for business travel, I would have preferred to stay closer to Marienplatz to be in the heart of the historic district, as that’s where I enjoyed spending my free time. The biggest drawback was the lack of amenities that you might find in a larger hotel, along with the compact room size. While the experience was positive, I’d recommend this hotel primarily for business travelers who prioritize location and efficiency over space and extra facilities.
