The room was extremely dark as there were no lamps or overhead lights. Asked the front desk about it and all they had was a camper light. For a 500 dollars stay I expected better.

We had a great time staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Monterey. The room was clean, comfortable & had a luxurious feel. The property was beautiful & the staff was polite and helpful!

Close driving proximity to everything Monterey & Carmel. Not walking distance, but if you have a car you’ll be about a 8-10 min drive to all main attractions. This hotel is new and modern, rooms and bathrooms are nice and large. Only concern is the rooms don’t have too much lighting and parking availability can be scarce if you’re arriving late in the night. Other than that this is a great option / location for the price. ***If you’re looking to be walking distance to Carmel or the Aquarium you’ll be paying double maybe triple for your nights stay at hotels that are in walking distance to the tourists spots. If you have a car and can drive under 10 mins to every hot spot book here!!

We stayed here for two nights. We checked in in the evening and then took the BART from the airport into San Francisco the next day and then flew out the following day. Very convenient. Shuttle to/from airport easy to use and convenient. Rooms are a little dated and showing their age but still In good/clean shape. I’m picky so that means something. Very convenient to airport and BART station.

My girls and I were looking forward to a nice, quiet and relaxing Friday at the spa and pool. We are locals but enjoy the pools and spas around monterey area. Unfortunately this hotel needs a little work on their spa. There are very sharp edges inside that are not safe. I ended up cutting my knee and today is two weeks since it happened and hasn’t healed. When I went to the front desk and asked if they had neosporin and a bandage they directed me to the gift shop. I then let the nice man at the desk know that I injured myself in the spa and showed him. The first thing he gave me was a liability paper to sign and I then asked him for neosporin and he said they had none and he gave me a bandage and a wipe to treat it, I’d wish they cared a bit more about their guest when I’m paying nearly $400 to use their pool and spa.

Convenient location for an overnight stop in Monterey. The staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub, as well as the hotel bar!

Property is nice. Didnt have the room i wanted ready for my 4 o clock check in due to lack of staff. Had to switch to a double bed. Then had neighbors complain about noise at 9 pm.. 10 pm is when quite times starts so i didnt think a call from the office was warrented

The property itself was nice except there is no coffee shop or restaurant to sit down in until 5 so we had to go elsewhere to eat. The room was clean but lacked adequate lighting. Fumbling around in the dark after sunrise was the norm. Bring a lantern. One thing that is tough is if you are elderly you must move all bags yourself. You start at the underground parking, go to the elevator and haul your stuff to your room. For the younger generation, it's not a big deal.

The beds were comfy. The pool and sitting options around the pool area were excellent. The hotel was clean, everything was nice. I am irritated by the fact that they charge $19 for parking. It’s not in a major city and even in SF we got free parking. The parking added 60 dollars to our bill.

NOT WORTH IT. After driving over three hours with children, I get checked in to only find out our room does not have a working bathroom. They then proceed to move us down a floor into a similar room but this one is right off a nosey busy roadway. So as I decide to settle since I booked through a third party and could not receive refund, I notice our shower is making some annoying squeaky noise. Apparently it was coming from our drain so I assume this has something to do with the plumbing. On the restaurant note, Calla is their restaurant lounge which states is open until 10 on Friday. After being seated our server asked if we were ready to order to which I said not yet. He then hastily states well the kitchen is closing soon. Mind you, it is barely approaching 8:30. This location really tainted part of our trip. No room service or anything I find accommodating when traveling with children. Our room had outside access from their main lobby. LOOK ELSEWHERE.

The rooms were very clean and spacious. Staff was accommodating. There was a billing discrepancy and the staff at the hotel was unable to explain the bill and get it straightened out. Expedia worked with the hotel to correct it.

could use better lighting like brighter lights or more lights...it was hard to see once the night came....water pressure could be better and shower head. other than that it was good.
