“Excellent”
We stayed for 6 nights in this hotel. Our room was small but comfortable, it overlooked a building site however I didn't notice any noise and with it being at back of hotel it was cooler. Beautifully kept grounds and pool area, room for everyone. Location is ideal for all restaurants, pubs and shops (when you work out you can get out of the grounds in the gate by the pool area and that takes you right onto the main beach.) Would highly recommend this hotel and when we go back to Mallorca I would stay there again.
“Good, but nothing special”
We spent a week at Sol Lunamar in May 2011. It's just what we expected from a 3 star self catering holiday. The room was fairly basically furnished, but clean. Air con worked well (€15 deposit for the remote). Kitchen facilities were very basic, but we never intended doing much cooking, just used the crockery and cutlery for cold meals. The pool was pretty good, plenty of sun beds available at any time. Location is pretty good - the gate behind the pool leads directly to shops and restauarants, with the beach just a few yards further. No noise from outside at night time, although you might have to get used to the fridge and air con if you're a light sleeper. But it's only a short walk from the main strip of late night bars and clubs if that's what you're after. Palmanova/Magaluf is your typical "Blackpool with sun" type of resort, but there are plenty of opportunities to see more traditional Majorca. The capital Palma is definitely worth a visit, very reminiscent of Barcelona. And the train journey to Soller is lovely.
“A good value hotel that is well located.”
We recently had a 4 night break at these apartments. The accommodation was clean and well maintained and the staff were very efficient. Kitchen only had two hobs, which were slow because of the ampage difference from the UK so difficult to cook anything too elaborate. We cooked porridge on the hob each morning and made use of the toaster and kettle to make toast and tea. Our other meals were cold meats and salads or sandwich based. This is adequate when on holiday in a climate which is hotter than England. The sleeping arangement took us by surprise, as they were bed settees, set out against two walls. We moved the furniture around to allow us to put the two settees together to form a double bed and then replaced them before we vacated. Perfectly adequate and comfortable. A further surprise for us was English television without having to pay. It was brilliant. I would return here, no questions asked, if the price was right.
“Value for money on a budget”
Having not been to Majorca before I selected this hotel based on the price (cheapest) and because of the reviews I'd read. The hotel more than exceeded my expectations - the service was excellent, the condition of the property and grounds was good and it was in a great location for the beach, shops, restaurants and nightlife (palma nova and magaluf) - which were all easily walkable. It was also quiet and had air conditioning which were both a must for me! The only downsides I'd note were that the room was a bit small - there were 3 of us in our room and there was no room for a gap between the beds so it was a bit cosy to say the least!! There were not enough loungers around the pool so we ended up having to go to the beach everyday to sunbathe (and pay 4 euros each for a lounger), the towels were only changed every other day and we were not allowed guests back to the hotel. Overall though I'd definately recommend this hotel if your looking for something cheap and reasonably basic in a great location.
“Excellent location”
Stayed for three days, excellent for beach and restaurants. Unfortunately our room overlooked a building site (and the bins!) but as we were on a short break it was not a problem. Would stay there again but if stay was longer than a couple of nights would request a room overlooking pool.
