“Close to train station”
This is a very nice modern hotel, right down the street from the train station, so if you plan to use the train, its a great place to stay. It is a little far from the center, a taxi ride away. The staff were very helpful, and spoke English. I had to change rooms twice, since one was too far away and another was too close to construction noise, and this was not a problem for staff, who were very accomodating. The breakfast buffet was great. The neighborhood has a grocery store very near by but otherwise not too interesting. In all , I would recommend it. but not for visiting the heart of the city due to location.
“Good Location. Good Service.”
The best part of this hotel is the location, it is only a 2 minute walk from the train station and about 20 minute walk from downtown. The service at the front desk was outstanding, they were very helpful to us. The rooms were clean although the bathroom looked a little worn. However, since the price we paid was so reasonable, there's really nothing to complain about.
“Need English Speaking Staff”
Good hotel, good service, good breakfast. But very limited disposible paper products. Bathroom had no facial tissues. Also no coffee pot. Very strange as these are a must in every USA hotel. No microwave as well. How do we get our morning coffee. Had to wait until 7.30 am that is when they serve breakfast. So I wish we had earlier breakfast and/or at least coffee pots in the room.
“A Good Choice for Semana Santa Week in Malaga”
The Silken Puerta Malaga was clean with beautiful public areas. It was rated a 4 star hotel, but our room was very basic. The hotel was near the train and bus station mall so we had easy access to transportation and dining choices for lunch. Usually we ate dinners at local places in the city. We stayed at the hotel in early April. During the late afternoon it became very warm in the room, and we had difficulty finding out how to regulate the temperature (that may have been our fault for not understanding how the thermostat worked). Some pluses of the hotel were the Wifi Internet access that was included with the price of the room and hotel parking for our car that was inside at a nearby garage, which was connected by an underground access. The reasons to stay at this hotel are location, cleanliness, Internet access, and easy parking. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. We felt that the price we paid was very good considering the quality of the hotel and the fact that it was a major holiday week.
“Great hotel although a bit out of the way”
The hotel staff were very helpful although some of them spoke little english, which was a problem in Malaga as well. The hotel itself was modern, clean and had a great spa/sauna on the roof with views over the city. The fitness centre consisted of 1 treadmill, 1 step machine and a universal machine. It was enough to get a workout in. The rooms are modern, clean and spacious with free wifi, but the only english tv channels were CNN and BBC News. The breakfast was good with a mix of hot and continental. There is a big supermarket straight outside and the Maria Zambrano train station is about 2 mins walk away inside a large shopping mall. You can get the local train from there and the fast train to Barcelona. It was about a 20 min walk into the city centre which was nice at first but became a bit inconvenient when you're doing it a number of times a day, but a taxi was only about 5 EURO to the hotel. Great hotel but not the most convenient location if you want to be close to the action in the city centre; however it's good for the train and local shopping mall
“Excellent Hotel”
The hotel was very clean and convenient. I would definitely stay here again when I revisit Malaga.
