“Loved It”
I read the reviews before I booked the hotel and all I have to say is the staff at the front desk is WONDERFUL...they answered all of my million questions I had about Madrid. The people who worked at the phone booth were a little rude, but for the most part, what mattered were those at the front who were extremely helpful. The hotel is conveniently located right across the street from the metro which made it extremely convenient.
“Good Deal”
Bed wasnt too comfortable, but nice to have a free breakfast. They were very easy to work with and very accomadating. Good cheaper places to stay.
“Good for the money”
The services at the desk were inconsistent. But the rooms were clean and confortable. The location was very conventient to the metro and bus lines.
“Next time in Madrid I'll stay there again”

“Single traveller”
No problems, perfect location, friendly staff - most spoke a level of English that made it easy to interact with. Included breakfast was acceptable, don't expect an American buffet but they did serve hot and cold food.
“Bad Conditions”
This hotel needs to be renovated, it's expensive for what one gets and it's not very well located either. I can't find a reason why I would stay there again.
“Not impressed”
The best thing about the hotel is its locaton -- shopping, metro, bus and Arquelles barrio are very close. The room was clean, but basic. The breakfast was not worth the 9 euro -- no fruit, soggy eggs, and dry pastry. I ate elsewhere the second morning of my stay. The internet connection for 45 minutes cost 7 euros was slow. Of course in US hotels there is no charge for the internet and was full of popups. I was told by the connection that I could not do anymore searching until I closed some of the open windows; the open windows were five ad popups. In most internet cafes in the area, prices range from 1.5 to 2 euros for 30 minutes.
“Great location, but lacking service”
Hotel is in a very very prime location - right next to the metro, within walking distance to a lot of places as well. However, if you are American, and used to the American customer service, be warned that the hotel staff are not very friendly. They will tell you what you need to know, but they will make you feel like they did you a huge favor. They are, however, much nicer to you if you speak Spanish. The lock to our room was broken, and they never bothered to fix it throughout the entire stay. Furthermore, the maid often forgot to put soap/shampoo in the room after cleaning it, however calls to the front desk usually resolved it. I would recommend the hotel to other travelers, but be warned, this is Europe, they don't like Americans, and while they fulfill your requests, don't expect to feel valued.
“Expedia scam”
Expedia has a concept where they promise you a super price on a nice hotel. The price we paid for this hotel was not super ..but superior to Expedias competitors and the hotel was overall a big disapointment. Madrid is a wonderful city but this hotel reminds you of the Franco era and it really needs a thorough update. This is not way near a 4 star hotel! And I guess Expedia should now that ...and not scam its regular customers with something like this.
