“A nightmare!”

I couldn't believe how poorly I was received by the people at the front desk. When I got to my room, there was no WI FI available for my computer. The small computer in the lobby was not working either. The continental breakfast did not offer many choices. I got very poor reception on my cell phone here. I will NEVER stay at this Howard Johnson's again. The rates were satisfactory but the entire experience was quite unpleasant!!!!

Area recommendations

East Towne Mall was a fun place to visit. The Olive Garden is an excellent restaurant nearby. The Eastgate Movie Theatre had an excellent choice of movies.

Getting around

The one nice thing is that shuttle service is provided to the airport and you can keep your car at Howard Johnson's free of charge.

“dump”

The hotel was a dump - smelly, ugly, everything you can imagine. I can believe expedia said it was 3 stars!!!

“More than fine for the price you pay”

I wasn't expecting much so was pleased when I saw the cleanliness of the pool and hotel. Was surprised again with a hot continental breakfast. Overall, a good stay for what I paid.

“Great staff!”

The hotel itself was definitely not fancy. Some stains on the carpets and curtains. It was clean, comfortable and quiet, though. Location was okay for me. Had to drive about 15 to 20 minutes to get to my son's dorm, but two grocery stores practically in the parking lot-great for picking up groceries for my son. Continental breakfast was okay-could have used more fresh fruit instead of just apples and oranges (whole). The staff was EXCELLENT. I was particularly impressed with Victoria at the front desk. She was extremely helpful and friendly. Also, Michael, the man who did the bussing during breakfast was awesome. He entertained us all by singing and impersonating popular singers and definitely made the breakfast memorable. I would definitely stay there again. Rates were very reasonable, rooms were comfortable and staff was EXCELLENT.

Area recommendations

I would not stay near the campus. Too many one way streets and too much traffic to make it worthwhile to spend the extra money staying near the campus. Travel time is probably about the same whether you stay near campus or out a little farther.

“Good hotel for the cost”

This hotel was clean, reasonably priced (secret hotel), not far off I94,and close to the mall. Pool was very large, clear, and water temp was good. Not the most comfortable bed but still OK for the money. Good, hot complementary breakfast. Would stay there again.

“Great Pool and Hot Tub, Good Breakfast, Awesome Breakfast attendant”

Pool and hot tub were awesome and TONS of room! Great FREE breakfast! Pancakes, sausage, potatoes, eggs and cold items. Attendant at breakfast sang and was HAPPY! He was great! The rooms was a little dirty'ish, toilet was gross, bed was not the best...location was great and price was great also!!
