“peaceful relaxing vila”
The villa and service at Vila Bicuda was excellent our villa was cleaned daily a very exclusive, safe and relaxing location and will definately recommend to all. We had a hire car which is definately needed as the surrounding areas our also beautiful. We booked a one bed villa which was huge probably book a studio next time
“Great place to stay!”
Having stayed in this area for about 20 years was really impressed with this place. You do need a car as its out of the way but thats what was so perfect for us - lovely clean spacious villas, with 2 Tvs, fully fitted kitchen (a barbecue would have been nice) lots of space, 2 big safe pools, towels given by the pool, onsite restaurant, supermarket, coffee shop and snack bar, newsagents, 24 hour reception. Staff very friendly and helpful (not sure what happened with the other reviewer)but left you alone. very impressed with cleaning staff (who worked out after the first day that there was no point coming to clean before about 2pm with our teenagers lounging about in bed!) team of 3 or 4 who blitzed the place in about 20 mins every day.Nice cosmopolitan mix of families - spanish, Irish, portuguese and a smattering of english, but everyone kept pretty much to themselves other than a polite hello. Thats what we like from a holiday!! So to sum up - don't come here for a lively holiday with a rep to organise you , do hire a car if you want to explore. Perfect for families with small kids as very safe. Really is like having a villa in portugal but with a few extra facilities on site. Perfect!
“Great place to stay for families”
A lovely complex of villas, family friendly and in a fantastic location. You can do as little or as much as you want. Only gripe with the villas is that the beds weren't too comfy.
“We're going back next year”
An excellent base for visiting Lisbon and the surrounding area. We visited friends in Cascais and were only a 4/5 euro taxi ride away from the centre of the town. We visited the sights and were welcomed back each day or night by a wave from the security guy on the main entrance gate. The staff worked hard to accomodate us whether to give information or directions, or to service our room when most convenient to us. They allowed us to check in early due to our flight time and gave us the freedom of a self catering holiday with the comforts of a hotel suite.
“Excellent hotel on 2 miles away from the coast”
very clean. You get more than what you pay
“Quiet relaxing hotel - could be closer to beach and town”
Vila Bicuda is a nice, relaxing hotel/complex - as most of the other reviews point out it is family orientated, has very nice pools, people were very nice - very good value for a very nice resort. 2 words of caution - if you book a 'studio' as we did (very big and plenty of room for just two people) - most of these are situated around the central 'court yard' area that is also home to a very busy nursery, supermarket and bakery - so beware of the potential noise. Also, most of these studios back on to the main road into the complex and therefore have little in the way of a balcony (and what they do have it mostly in sun). Fortunately for us, we were able to move to a studio that was on the other side of courtyard with a patio area facing the pool (still next to a noisy childrens play area though!) 2nd word of caution - you will need to hire a car/bikes to explore the area - it is way further to the beach than the website lead us to believe, it is also a good 15 minute back into Cascais (and we are fast walkers!) That said, would different recommend Vila Bicuda for a relaxing break.
“Perfect for some rest and relaxation”
A lovely complex, with well equipped apartments. We stayed in a studio, but staill found it spacious. Great to have somewhere to sit outside too. Just note that the apartments are a little distance from the main resort of Cascais - although there are buses every hour, and they are punctual.
“Too far out of the way - stay in the center of Cascais”
Though this hotel is clean and neat, it's very far away from Cascais's town center and any attractions. We did not rent a car and had to take a bus just to get to Cascais! The hotel staff was not very friendly, especially in the restaurant. You rely so heavily on the hotel's restaurant because you are so far out of the way. The staff seems irritated at having to serve people. The hotel is nice, though it lacks a ton of charm. The furniture is just IKEA stuff. Though it has a kitchen, it is totally unequipped and you have to buy everything. For instance, you can't make a cup of coffee as there aren't even any filters. Better to stay in Cascais itself. This villa is just way out of the way.
