“Great hotel, we loved our stay”
We traveled to Portugal for a week and stayed for a total of 4 nights at Hotel Altis. We were able to book the hotel for a great price via Expedia. The hotel is in a good location minutes walk from Av. Liberdade, which has shops and cafes. It is also near Bairro Alto, which has great nightlife and endless restaurants. From the location of the hotel taxis were very cheap to get to other places in the city. If you are looking to stay in the very center of town, this is a little but away about about 5 euros for a taxi to Chiado if that helps. They also offer a complementary shuttle to the airport. We stayed in room 817 which was spacious and has a large bathroom. The bed is comfortable if you like a firm mattress. The windows open, which is nice in the summer evenings. The staff was very helpful, friendly and professional. The hotel and room are clean and in very good condition. I really have no complaints. The do not have an ironing board in the room and if you request one they only offer to have your clothes pressed for you. I would recommend this hotel and stay here again, for the price Expedia offered it at, it was superb.
“Romance At Altis”
I had a special romantic request because I wanted to have a romantic weekend with my girl and the hotel came across my expectations and had a surprise for us as well!!! I could not had a better treatment !!
“Great service, location and value.”
My wife and I enjoyed three lovely nights at the Hotel Altis in Lisbon. It has convenient location, friendly and helpful staff, and serves an excellent breakfast. Rates were very reasonable, especially with full breakfast included.
“Great location and friendly service”
Very friendly staff. All the benefits of 5* service, but without the formality that often goes with this ( a positive). Well located with Lisbon centre easiliy walkable. Food good and in coffee shop restaurant particularly reasonable.Myself and my two (adult) children had an excellent time.
“Good location”
Good location, Value for money. Parkec car for free.
“Recommended”
Front desk and bell-hop team was warm, professional, efficient. Housekeeping was transparent. Beds were very comfortable. Altis operates six hotels in the city ... consider also Altis Belem for a night on the river, in a hip, designer spa hotel. The hotel operates a shuttle between the properties.
“Great hotel for Family and with excellent location”
We were at the Altiss Apartment Hotel which is right up the hill from the Altiss. We were very comfortable has a nice shower and a fair amount of room. My wife thought we were in the Altiss but the desk manager was great and checked with both the suites and the apartment hotel and then had his bellman walk our bags up to the apartment hotel. He also helped with the door which has a multibolt deadlock system.
“Ok for a short stay in Lisboa”
Certainly doesn't have the same 5 star status as the uk. Free Internet access only on one half of the bed or sitting on the toilet, not the best. Rip out all the mini bars that no one ever uses or can afford and replace with a €10 kettle that everyone would appreciate. Result
“Be sure you get what you pay for”
Our experience with Hotel Altis started badly when we were shown to a tiny "3 star" room at the back of the Hotel on the 12th floor, rather than the Deluxe Double that we had booked and paid for. It took two complaints before we were finally shown to the right room, the second offering being a single room! In all rooms there was something missing (from bottles of water to a bathrobe). As a previous guest reported the Internet in this Hotel is terrible. A connection requires a login and you need to supply that every time you connect. The coverage is spotty in the rooms with the best coverage being in the bathroom. There is no coverage in the dining room and coverage in the lobby is a hit and miss affair. The only redeeming factor is that it is free, although no one would pay for internet this bad. The website says that the safe is "laptop compatible" but this is not the case. You can fit an iPad in the safe, but my 15" laptop needed to stay in its bag. Housekeeping was in concert with the rest of the hotel. Towels were removed but not replaced. In 5 nights the sheets were not replaced once and empty glasses were not removed. The room itself has been updated with some nice touches. The TV is hidden behind a large mirror and the furniture is modern and functional, but the bathrooms have been given lip service and show signs of wear and tear. In a 3 star hotel these things may be acceptable, but they are not for a 5 star hotel.
