“A good place to relax”

The Samudra Retreat is a great place to relax and unwind. The view from the main building (housing the restaurant, bar, main pool and spa)provide an incredible tropical vista. The breakfast buffet includes all one could hope for. The staff was polite and eager to please. The beach in front of the hotel is limited and not great for getting in the water but adjacent beach front makes up for it. Main negatives included limited hot water for morning showers and limited variety on the restaurant menu for dinner. While breakfast food was great, other meals were less than satisfying there. There are a number of other places to eat on the beach and out on the main road however.

“Great Fun”

The Retreat was outstanding. The entire staff was very helpful, and polite even when there was a language barrier. The Lotus Pool Villa is the way to go. I will return for another R&R.

“Beautiful Place”

One of the loveliest settings in the whole world. Beautiful landscaping, nice rooms. I'd go back in a minute. The breakfasts were wonderful too. Friendly staff. Quiet.

“A Chong Mon Diamond”

This is a lovely Hotel and one of the best value Spa's in Samui. Away form the busy Chaweng Beech this hotel offers a welcome break from the hussle and hassle side of the island. The Resturant is very expensive (and will charge an additional 10& SC and 7% tax so be careful) Chaplins nearby is a very reasonably priced resturant and the food is just as good as the hotel.

“Very Impressed”

We originally had a villa that shared a pool with two other villas. It was exellent but we decided to change to a single villa with our on pool. The hotel gave us a good rate and moved us in less than 1/2 hour. We would recommend this hotel to others and Expedia who arranged a great trip for both my wife and I.

“Very nice”

The hotel is beautiful and very clean and the pools are superb!. We had an oceanview room which was not that "oceanview" because you are high on a hill overlooking a lot of beautiful trees but have to look through the trees for the ocean. We would walk up and down the very steep hill to our room for the exercise but there are golf carts that could take you up and down. The breakfast is great and was included. Made to order omelettes, fruits, meats, even seafood and sushi. The staff is very warm and friendly. The beach could use some cleaning up and not an easy access to the bigger beach but definitely quiet. Hoping they will build a bridge to Chomong beach so you don't have to tread water at night when the tide is in. Overall nice stay.

“Samudra Retreat”

My wife and I stayed in #804 for 2 weeks, the Peninsular Pool Villa. The onsite restaurant was excellent and the staff always helpful. Travel via the hotel was always available and we were able to book a number of public and private tours from the desk. Overall it was very relaxing for both of us.

“Amazing Hotel and setting”

From the minute we checked in until we checked out was the best 7 days ever. The hotel is beautiful, staff very attentive, beach lovely, etc. Only a 10 minute cab ride from Chaweng, but feels like a million miles away. Highly recommend a stay their. We will be back again next year.

“Very tidy and beautiful hotel”

This hotel is very stylish and tidy and relatively inexpensive. Some suites are closer to the ocean than others and you pay accordingly. The swimming pools are nice. The pool side bar is great and there are 2 happy hours each night from 4 to 5pm and 9 to 10pm. Very close to the beach where there are a number of beach side restaurants and activities to do in the sea. Very relaxing time.

“Just amazing!”

Excellent! - We stayed at the Samudra for one week and during our entire stay everything was excellent. The staff are very helpful, everything was in good condition and the resort itself is just stunning! The grounds are lovely and peaceful with excellent amenities. Its not in the main part of town, but close enough that its easy to get there in a few mins. The Samudra made our holiday something special!
