“Impressed”
This hotel used to be called Gurich Samui but in October 2011 Le Meridien took it over. So when we tried to find Gurich Samui our driver was driving around everywhere in Lamai Beach looking for it. A beautifully presented hotel, amazing pool, the staff were fantastic. Our room was a king, and our children had twin beds next door to us. Really loved the outdoor shower, which gave the option of 2 types of shower heads. Highly recommend Lamai Beach to stay as opposed to Chaweng - too busy. The hotel is about 20-30 min walking to main area for shopping, but easy enough to get a tuk tuk everywhere, or a taxi. The taxi's say they are metered but they have a set rate depending on where you wanted to go. The hotel breakfast is also fantastic. Overall, we would go back again, but would stay away from peak period.
“Lovely Hotel”
Now known as the Le Meridian. Top class hotel. Very relaxing place to stay. Would recommend if you want to sit back, unwind and read a book. Poolside villa is where I stayed with a shared pool at your door. - put the book down and drop into the pool ! Staff are great and will do anything for you. Only drawback is the small beach area and the surrounding local area of the hotel. But you have to remember this is Thailand and it would be the same everwhere! Get used to the sights, sounds and lifestyle of the locals.
“Not all that”
Gurich looked great but seriously lacked the warmth of most hotels, we had pool view villa, nice rooms but too close together. It was luxurious but that's not why people come to Thailand for, Dubai has plenty of luxurious hotels. We come to Thailand for the greenery and the beach view and for good affordable food and shopping. I personally felt closterphobic at Gurich. The prices of Everything was just too high. You. are already paying premium rates for the hotel room, and on top of that we had to pay dubai rates for food and drinks. We felt robbed as when you visit a country like Thailand. You expect to pay Thailand prices and not US or Dxb prices. The spa was ridiculously expensive. The breakfast was great but you had to pay for coffee or tea which was the price of a meal normally. The hotel staff were cold and barely spoke English. We found a hotel down the road in the beginning of Chaweng and paid the same price for a full sea view with pool and living room villa at The Sarann. We ended up staying there for 9 nights.
“Fantastic Trip!!”
This trip was so much fun and a great way to relax. Langham Place was a fantastic place to stay and i would recommend it to everyone. Koh Samui is a wonderful place and the Thai people are lovely! Everything about this trip was great except for the flights on British Airways. They are terrible....
“Beautiful resort to get lost in...”
The resort was one of the best travel experiences I've had. The design was outstanding - a combination of classical colonial architecture with all the mod cons. There are lots of tree and greenery. The pool was excellent, and situated right on the edge of the ocean. The staff are extremely helpful and pleasant. There are loads of free activities which they don't advertise, and I thoroughly enjoyed the free thai boxing and beach soccer.
“Beautiful boutique hotel in Lamai Beach”
.
“A fantastic experience”
While in the upper price range for accommodation on Samui island, this hotel has everything you could want to make your holiday perfect. The poolside rooms are positively luxurious. Stepping out for a g & t in your pool at the end of a day of sailing or scooting around the island and eating fabulous food....who could ask for more? I'd love to go back with the whole family based around the same pool.
“Best hotel experience”
the hotel is amazing but the beach is not
“If only we could have stayed longer!!!!”
We wanted to find somewhere to relax on our way back to Sydney from Europe and we certainly found it! This is one place where you do not have to lift a finger (except maybe to lift your cocktail glass). Our room was absolutely fantastic with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The bathroom was amazing - partially open air with a huge bath and equally large shower. The staff cannot do enough for you. Even while you laze around the pool there is someone to take care of your every need - right down to cleaning your sunglasses. This is paradise - and yes, it is at the quiet end of Lamai Beach but that is exactly what we were after - relaxation and pampering.
“I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!”
I now know the difference between a 4 and a 5 star hotel. Langham Place was excellent in every possible way. The grounds were beautiful, the breakfast - included - was extensive and different every day, and the room was more than I could expect. The staff was incredibly helpful and out and out wonderful. I couldn't have been happier. One thing - the other guests were super quiet. If you want a place where the guests interact with each other, perhaps this isn't the place for you. One guest in particular was upset that we were making some noise off the hotel's private pier. I guess she thought that the Gulf of Thailand was her own private sea. But except for that loser, everything - EVERYTHING - was great!!!
