"Varana Hotel in Krabi is almost new and a lot of money and thoughts have gone into making this a brilliant hotel, including a 50m olympic size swimming pool and other pools, some whirlpool spa-style. It was low season so no crowds around the pool and therefore a very happily quiet stay. "The site was lovely and quiet with two large pools, the beautiful beach to one side, a forested hill on the other and the lively Ao Nang town and good restaurants just outside the gate. However our first room, although comfortable was very tired with fittings in bathroom not fully working - and we had to ask to be moved. The replacement room was lovely though. "
