“Comfortable hotel ... scary shower”

This is not an easy place to run a good hotel, so the Sheraton has done a decent job. All staff are friendly and helpful, room was large and comfortable and the food was good. The hotel had few guests at the time of my stay, so the restaurant had little atmosphere, but the team tried their best. Going out to the local KFC was a mini-adventure as I seemed to attract every street kid from the entire city. There are regular power cuts but the hotel has a generator, although this did not seem to cover the water system. The basin tap gurgled, blew out some brown water, then stopped. So remember to fill the kettle at night in case the shower runs dry in the morning. Hot water, when it appeared, was very hot, then very cold, leading to the tradional shower dance. Security was good, but not to the same standard of the Marriott, so probably best to request a room on the side of the hotel rather than the front. Airport pick up shuttle bus service was good both ways. Local taxis are entertaining, low cost and my driver was a good shopping guide, but probably not recommended unless you are a confident traveller.
