"Perfect for 1 night before or after a flight. Middle of nowhere so it was quiet. The staff were super lovely, couldn’t do enough for you. Only things that were a let down - the tv didn’t work and the shower only had two settings - very hot (and I like my showers hot, so this was saying something) or cold (which you couldn’t get it back to cold until you turned it off again)"

"Lovely pub with excellent staff and service. Old builidng steeped in history and also some quirks. Rooms maybe in need of a little updating. Also unable to get wifi, which wasn't a majot issue except had wanted to watch something on itvx and couldn't. Food for both evening and breakfast was superb and very decent portion sizes! "The owner was honest, helpful and informative on our arrival the rooms were clean and tidy and the restaurant and bar areas were nice and comfortable. The pub is only about 15 minutes drive away from Lewes train station which takes you to either Brighton or Eastbourne it was ideal for us has we were there for the football at Brighton. "

"Friendly run pub offered great service when we arrived late friday evening. Explained we wouldnt need breakfast the saturday morning as we were leaving early to particiapte in the south downs challenge. Suggested a breakfast tray they would leave outside our room. They did and included fruit, cereal and yogurts. Stayed in the Firle room. 4 poster bed very clean and bed was really comfy. Drinks in the bar reasonable priced and lovely welcome. "Lovely Sussex country setting. The bedrooms are all very cosy and tastefully decorated. The bathroom in our suite was very luxurious. Modern tv in the room with streamed channels available. Plenty of sockets for charging phones, etc. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and took very good care of us - thank you."

"What can we say.. such a beautiful and magical place.so clean and tidy. Our room was big. King bed single bed double sofa bed and a fold away single. Table and chairs. Fridge, microwave tea coffee and more. You have everything you need for a lovely comfortable stay. Secluded with a beautiful garden to explore. "Countryside enfolded the TJS and as soon as we walked in we were made to feel welcomed. Our room was clean and fresh. Everything you needed had been thought of, big walk-in shower. fluffy robes, small fridge with water and milk for your tea. We only had breakfast but was freshly cooked and lasted us all day. We loved our stay and would definitely go back. TJS gets our thumbs up. "
