“Fantastic location near plenty of shops, restaurants and bars.”

When you book into the hotel you have to do it at a different location. It is easy to do as long as you know about it in advance. It is only a two minute drive away at their other location, on the warf!!!! The location of both hotels are fantastic.

“Can't wait to go back”

I will definitely stay at Somerset on Salamanca if I go to Hobart again. The bedrooms are huge and very clean. Nice harbour view and excellent location.

“Great apart from the modcons....”

Very comfortable place but disappointingly had old tvs with no digital channels, outrageously expensive internet access (and not wireless), and according to my wife - hair dryers from the 1950's. All else was pretty good. Rooms are serviced 6 days which was a nice surprise.

“I'll be back!”

A very cosy, clean and efficiently run place. Situated up on a little hill above Salamanca, it was private and yet very near all the best eating places along Salamanca Place. Well within walking distance to the city centre and other attractions in Hobart, which is a very small city anyway. Staff are friendly and get things done fast. I've already recommended it to a few friends.

“Somerset on Salamanca .”

Whilst the apartment was neat, clean and comfortable we were very disappointed with the beds. We asked for king size beds and what we had were two king singles pushed together then made up, so you can imagine the bump/hard line down the middle of each 'king size' bed. Most unsatisfactory!!! Other establishments we have stayed in at least put a full sized queen or king mattress over the two bases pushed together. We had to check in at the Elizabeth Street Pier site when we arrived and then when our room was finally ready, we were taken around to Salamanca Place in their courtesy bus, which on arrival was great as it was a walk dragging luggage. However, on our departure the same courtesy was not extended - the excuse given was that only one staff member was working - on a Monday morning!!!!. Not good customer relations. We are not in our 20's or 30's and the use of the courtesy bus to take us back around would have been a fitting end to what was a wonderful weekend. They just need to fix the 'little things' that add to the experience.

“Look no further”

Location is fabulous, walk down to Salamanca Place or head up to the Battery Point Bakery for breakfast, or us the in-room cooking facilities. Great to have a bathroom for each bedroom, to be able to park at the front door is wonderful, my only dislike is that you have a pump soap container in the bathroom and shower. There is something displeasing about not using your own individually wrapped soap instead of struggling with a soap dispenser to wash hands and shower.

“Good location and views”

I had an upgrade to a two bedroom apartment 206. A very spacious apartment, very comfortable with great views of the harbour and close to everything on Salamanca. Beds a bit hard and TV' s a bit ancient - but one in each room. You need to check in at Somerset On the Pier which is about a 10 minute walk away, but parking is good and included. Building works in front of the apartments a bit noisy during the day. Air conditioner in lounge room does not reach to bedrooms - ok in winter as they have heaters in the bedrooms.
