“Love Hobart”
Although the Hotel doesnt offer a view of the fabulous harbour, it did offer a magnificant view of Mount Wellington. The harbour and Salamanca place are just a brisk walk from the door of the Hotel. Umbrellas were in plentiful supply, advice and friendly smiles in abundance. The room was really clean, bright and modern, not speck of dust and everything appeared to be brand new. Certainly a high quality fitout. We didnt use the restaurant but every time we went into the lobby it was packed full of patrons. a great sign of good food and great hospitality. The carpark next door was easy to get to and the hotel have a deal goingb that allows great parking prices, a far cry from the mad excessive prices of our home town of Melbourne. I cant wait for the next visit to Hobart and the Hotel Collins will be my new preferred lodgings. I give her top marks.

Recently renovated, modern hotel, rooms a little on the small side but quite utilitarian. Very helpfula and pleasant staff.

Fine for business travellers, bed was cumfortable, room was clean, there was a desk with eay accessable power plugs, baristaed coffee was downstairs, what more do you want!

“Everything we wanted”
The location of this hotel is perfect. It is just two blocks from the harbour, and two blocks from the city centre, and bus terminal. The rooms were extremely clean and well maintained. Four chanels of free movies was appreciated. Breakfast was available but we walked a short walk to try other nice cafes for breakfast. Bus travel was cheap and handy around the city. We would certainly stay at the Collins on our next Hobart stay.
“Overrated hotel.”
I chose this hotel upon very positive reviews on various websites, and was disappointed by it. The rooms were adequate and clean, but did not look as impressive as they did in photos. I know at this day and age, one needs to discount the photos on the hotel's website. But I apparently did not discount them enough. I asked for a slightly later checkout at noon (the standard checkout in Australia is 11), and was told no flat out. I was still in the room at 1120 getting ready and was getting multiple calls for hurry me. This is hardly what one would expect from a hotel that aspires to me top notch. The location is fine, but by no means as central as the website suggests.

I found the room to be very small. The view from my window was ordinary. Unfortunately the room overlooked the offices of Hobart
