Very disappointing
This is the first negative review I have ever done. The first room I was in had a broken fridge, a broken air conditioner and was not clean. I asked to be moved. The second room had a broken toilet and broken tv. I asked for them to be fixed and was told that this was a bad hotel, I should expect things like this. I fixed the toilet myself. The room was dirty and unmaintained. The shower curtain and bathroom walls had mould everywhere, and the sleeping area had filthy walls, mould and humidity pealing paint. If you are asthmatic stay away from this place. There was one helpful person at the front desk.

Arrived 5 minutes before 2pm check in time and they said you have to wait until 2pm to checkin! Breakfast photos are all over their website, however they no longer offer breakfast. Which has always been free with your accommodation as I’ve stayed there multiple times over the past 12 years.

If you're just looking for a super cheap accommodation, this is good enough. However, that is about the only thing you'll get. Front desk service is...pretty lousy (guy isn't very friendly, and basically doesn't do anything). Room is not exactly the cleanest (there was a cockroach in my room on L4, which we got rid of ourselves and didn't see anymore thereafter, BUT STILL). The dressing table was a little dusty, but I just wiped it down with my own wet tissue. Wardrobe door is a little creaky. One thing to also note - the electricity in the room goes out once you leave the room (remove the key from the wall plug) so the fridge switches off, which means anything you try to chill - does not continue chilling. Overall, not recommended unless your #1 priority is cost.

Be careful with this hotel not recommended
I have been to this hotel in years past it was wonderful they changed owners and I would not recommend it at all. 5 days in the hotel they did not make the room once didn't take the trash out it started piling up. At the end of the stay they charged me $25 for checking out half hour late. The staff is unacceptable at best. I would advise everybody to look very carefully as to rent in this hotel. It was a couple rooms where people didn't spend the night and I'm not sure exactly what was going on other than they used it for an hour and left you make the decision what they were doing.

Weak Wifi
The staff were friendly and generally quite good. The WiFi is pretty much non existent though! So if you have anything to do on-line you will not be doing it there.

The overall condition was fine. The hygiene in the room and property was not bad, given that most places in the city were dirty. Wifi was a little bit slow. Quality of breakfast was ok but I wish the service could extend to 9:30, with more variety of food. Staff were friendly and helpful to arrange a local tour to Cu Chi Tunnel; the tour was great with the introduction by a guide of South Vietnamese veteran. The location was good because it is at the centre of the city but not too close to the pub area, where is more noise and dirty.

AVOID THIS PLACE
They came in my room two different days when I had the do not disturb sign posted. Room was very hot. A/C did not work but they have a disgusting dirty fan. They offer laundry service and charge 5x the posted prices when you check out. The elevator takes OVER 20 minutes and VERY HOT. Hairs everywhere. They must never clean. Much better hotels right next door and across the street. Avoid this dump. They serve rice for breakfast and untoasted bread with no butter. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

You get what you pay for.
The WiFi connection was bad like 14.4 dial up bad. The a/c took awhile to startup, this is one of those places where you had to stick in a key card to power up everything once you leave you have to take out the key. There are11 floors but the elevator only went up 10 stories, guess what floor we were on 😂. You get what you pay for, it only cost me $15/night but I would gladly pay more to be more comfortable, there are tons of hotels in the same area for $10 to $15 more per night that will be a stellar stay compared to what experienced at Cityview.

Centrally located
Good clean quiet room. Wifi not to fast but available. Comfortable bed and bedding. Basic Vnamese breakfast included. Most hotels in Vietnam have a step in tub with flexible shower spray. This tub needs some anti slip mat as it was very slippery. Area is walking distance to Tao Dan and 23/9 parks and Ben Thanh market. Co- op supermarket at end of street for all your grocery needs. Good value for money and I will stay here again as I like this area.

First time in Vietnam
10- min walk from Backpacker street. The hotel is set on a quiet street. There is also a huge COOP supermarket 5 min. away. Upon check in, some Viet hotels will request you to leave your passport at the reception, just insist on keeping your own passport and they will not keep it.The breakfast buffet is great to start off the day with vegetable and fruits. The hotel doesn't provide any water machine which is a big flaw to us since we don't drink from any plastic bottle, we bring our own bottle to be more eco-friendly.

Exceeded my expectations
This hotel is cheap, meaning very affordable but the room is very clean and cozy. I was planning to stay there for a night but after a night, I felt really comfortable and relaxed, so I booked for another night. They also has a free breakfast though it's not really a good breakfast atleast they have free breakfast! They only serve pho, rice, egg, brewed coffee, bread and jam, and orange juice. :) Also, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The guy at the front desk (his shift is on the night time), he was really nice and helpful. I like him very much.

Hotel is located at district 1 and near all places of interest... supermarket is just down the road...10 minutes walk and the best "ban mi" is located behind the hotel.

Good budget choice
Second stay here. Unpretentious hotel get quiet room at rear with windows. Bed firm clean bathroom but have to step into high bathtub to use shower. Breakfast is OK if you choose Vietnamese options but poor for western food. Walking distance to backpacker area and Ben Thanh Market.
