“My next stay will be at the Grand”
The family suite was very roomy and comfortable for a family of 4. The tour desk at the Grand set up three great tours for us, city tour, the tunnels, and the Mekong Delta, all fabulous. The food was also great at the Grand. The only issue we had was the room as too hot, but the staff at the Grand solved this very quickly.
“Second time at the Grand”
Both times we have stayed at the Grand we had the Grand Suite. Two beautiful rooms, both have their own bathrooms and a beautifu loungeroom which enables you to be social with friends at the end of each day. Friendly staff at the pool bar. We enjoyed our stay, the only issue we had was with the afternoon coffee and cake. Thecake was like a rock. Thought I would also mentioned that there are building works going on and not due for completion until the end of the year
“Great place to stay in Saigon”
The Grand Hotel Saigon was a great place to end our 3 week holiday. It was in a great location with many shops and restaurants close by. The staff were friendly, we got fresh fruit each day in our rooms and a choccy and story on our pillows each night.
“Exceeded my expectations”
We booked a grand suite & I wasn't sure exactly what to expect as far as room configuration went. I was very pleased to find that this consisted of apartment style accommodation, with a lounge room, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms. This was a perfect set-up for our family of four. The suite was opulently furnished, and we felt quite spoiled for our last night in Vietnam, having stayed in smaller, predominately 3-star properties for the rest of our stay in Vietnam. The reception, concierge and restaurant service was friendly, efficient and attentive. The included breakfast was substantial and delicious. The kids loved the pool, and it was extremely inviting in the hot, humid weather. There was extensive renovation occurring to part of the hotel, alongside the pool, which caused the pool area to look quite shabby, but it will look fantastic no doubt when it is finished. Apart from aesthetics, we weren't bothered by noise or other inconvenience due to the renovations. I highly recommend this hotel for families with children. The area is convenient for most centrally located attractions, is close to restaurants, and for shopping (reducing the amount of walking or taxi trips that kids get sick of!). According to hotel advertising, it will become 5-star when the renovations finish (apparently end of 2011), so I don't know what will happen to prices, but at the moment the grand suite represents excellent value for money for families.
“BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRILLIANT EVERYTHING A++++++++++”
We have travelled a lot mainly around Australia. The Grand Hotel was the best hotel experience of them all. We travelled with our teenage children and the Grand Hotel was brilliant we had the grand suit this gave us all our own space and a great lounge area to relax. It is close to everything. The restaurants especially the roof top were terrific with a fantastic view of the river the food both delicious and affordable offering a wide variety of choice. The staff could not do enough for us to make our stay memorable. The hotel was spotless and the breakfast delicious with so much choice I would only ever stay at The Grand Hotel Thanks Expedia Jill
“One of the best hotels in Vietnam, definitely would stay again & highly recommend it to others.”
Absolutely fabulous. Great place to stay. Staff extremely friendly & couldn't do enough to please us. The breakfast buffet was very good with quite a variety of foods to choose from. A 10 minute walk to the markets but can easily catch a taxi or a motorbike. There are plenty of eating places nearby so no problem to walk to & a great little coffee shop right across the road from the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel. Only one thing, as there is a lot of construction work going on near the hotel ask to stay in the old wing which is away from the noise & the rooms are beautiful.
“HCMC Distric 1 Hotel”
I've stayed at the Grand twice now. Each time the hotel was everything I expected. When I would leave, the doorman would ask where I was going and tell me how much to expect to pay for the taxi. It is in walking distance to Ben Thanh Market & the Tax Market. Restaurants are within walking distance too. The pool is wonderful!
“Great hotel, even better holiday.”
The Grand is an old building with a newer wing on it. We stayed in the new wing. The room was much larger than expected, very clean and well maintained, decent size bath and all the facilities one needs. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the tourist advisors particularly were very helpful and gave good advice. The pool area is nice and has a great view of a new building being built which makes an interesting contrast to the older surrounds of the hotel. Saigon itself is an interesting place. Clearly a developing city with lots of building and activity. In 5 years it will be huge so go now whilst it still has a lot of the old stuff. The people of Saigon are very friendly and welcoming. In the markets they can get a bit 'urgent' with their sales technique but for the most part shopping is pretty relaxed. Prices are embarrassingly low, especially for food and coffee. We had two coffees, two ices teas and two cakes for $7.60. The food is amazing; we ate at expensive restaurants, cheap restaurants, cafes, street stalls, the markets, you name it, all the food was well prepared, well presented, tasted great and was cheap. The scooters are insane. Find yourself a nice cafe on a big corner and just watch it happen, it was quite amazing! Vietnamese coffee is a must, especially the weasel coffee. We would highly recommend both the hotel and the city as a holiday destination and we'll certainly be going back ourselves.
“THE GRAND IS EXACTLY THAT..........GRAND”
It is in a great location, hotel food was amazing, and i loved the pool as it was entertaining for the kids. the rooms were so grand..... we loved them they were the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in, we will recommend this hotel to all our friends back in Australia.
“The Grand New Wing”
Great hotel and very friendly staff. Great location and the new 20 floor wing is superb. Fantastic shower and bathroom although the bed was a little hard. Compared to the Duxton where I stayed the week before - I would recommend the Grand - and it is cheaper.
