“A little gem!”

We stayed at Creta Blue from 12-19 June 2012, and loved it! The location is great for a relaxing holiday - away from the traffic and tourist shops of Hersonissis, but only a 5-min walk from old village of Koutouloufari, which despite being small has an abundance of excellent restaurants and cafes - special mention to Nikos and the Dutch patisserie in the centre. The hotel itself is stunning - the infinity pool and views out to sea, the stylis yet casual restaurant/bar, the delicious food (particularly the long, 3-course breakfasts!) ... There were great little touches - air conditioning without extra charges, a bottle of water when we arrived late in the evening, a regular BBQ night where long tables are set out, encouraging guests to mix. But what makes this hotel stand out from others is the service. George, his family and the rest of the staff are professional, friendly, and clearly take pride in the work they do. They know your room number already when you order food or drink, they say hello and goodbye to whoever is in the restaurant, and when one of our group was asked to change rooms, a bottle of wine was left as a thank you. Nothing is too much trouble at this hotel - and we cannot recommend it highly enough!!

“Very pleased”

Creta Blue is a clean, well kept, quiet hotel high above the main street of Hersonissos in the small vilage of Koutoularfari. There is a narrow paved road linking the hotel to the village, so narrow that transfer busses cant make it and George the hotel manager came out to collect us even at 11.30pm. The steep slope up to our room was no problem for us but some may find it difficult. We were made to feel very welcome at all times and all the staff were really good. Our room was the highest and benefitted from the `eagles nest` a terrace overlooking the pamorama of the bay. Breakfast was bread, jam, eggs with processed cheese and ham and the organised hotel dinners are well worth going to. There are also some really good places to eat in the evenings down the hill and turn left. It is a good idea if you are brave enough to hire a car although the driving can be a bit frantic. All in all a very pleasant stay and recommended

“Great hotel will be back!”

From the check in to the check out, this hotel was above our expectations. We stayed for 7 nights in early October. This is a family run property and you feel like part of the family as soon as you arrive. Good location and great views!

“A Treasure in Crete”

My husband and I decided to discover Crete and we found a real treasure in the Creta Blue Suites. From the moment we stepped out of the taxi, we we were warmly welcomed by George's father, and then George himself, who manages the family's hotel. This hotel is celebrating 8 years of continuous success and by the way they are managing their clientele, they will be around for years to come. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a much larger suite, all of which have a gorgeous ocean view from high atop the hills of Koutouloufaris. George's mother, Eleni is the maestro of the kitchen and her dishes are superb. She claims not to be a professional chef but could easily compete with Europe's finest. We have eaten at many fine establishments in many countries and this ranks as one of our favorites. The ambience of the restaurant in the evening is very special, with the view of the Mediterranean and the twinkling of the lights along the shore as darkness falls. You are made to feel as one of the family. George was exceptional in his role as manager and he seems to thoroughly enjoy his role. We would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to others.

“A Little Gem on the island of Crete!!”

The whole Creta Blue Boutique Hotel experience was wonderful. The owners, George, Rannia and family welcome you with open arms and are only too happy to look after you during your stay. Eleni's (George's mother) cooking is fantastic and very reasonably priced - far superior to many of the local restaurants. George arranged a hire car for us and we explored some of the beautiful island of Crete - only to return each evening to yet another warm welcome. The hotel is perfectly situated upon a hill above Koutouloufari overlooking the beautiful coastline. All the rooms have this wonderful majestic view. The hotel facilities and grounds are in absolute immaculate order throughout - you can see everywhere how proud the family must be of their property. It is a very short stroll down to Koutouloufari itself and two other villages link together and are accessible in just 20 minutes or so. You can also walk down to Hersonisos town/port which has all the usual shops/bars/attractions you would expect in a tourist destination. We were truly sad to leave and will definitely be returning to this little gem on the island of Crete.

“A beautiful family run hotel”

This is an immaculate family run hotel with beautiful views of the sea in front and mountains behind focused around a swimming pool, garden and bar. George, his wife, his mother Helen and father are remarkably generous in their warmth and consideration so that we felt cherished and cared for.

“Creta Blue.... The place to recharge”

Very difficult to say a bad word about the place. Our holiday started with George picking us up from the place expedia transfer dropped us and George letting us know he was in a position to upgrade us to a better room. The room had everything we needed, a fridge to store the gin and wine (the essentials), a sink, kettle and crockery to meet our needs, a balcony with a great view of the sea. The continental breakfast was what you would expect and nicely starts your day off without feeling like your going to sink in the pool as soon as you dive in. The pool is always clean and our room was cleaned daily with fresh flowers put in the bathroom and lounge area each day. Downsides but by no means bad points, the bed was a little firmer than our one at home but every holiday we have had, a bed is never like your own! If you go into town to try out the bars or restaurants at night, a small torch or smart phone with a torch on is helpful for the last 200 meters before the hotel as there are no street lights, but this is of no fault of the owners. We have eaten at the restaurant several times, enjoyed the freshly and home made food and its amazing, much better than some of the restaurants down the road, reasonably priced and great tasting. Definite compliments to George's mum! For a family run Hotel this is just run to perfection, from the house keepers , the waitress to George, nothing is ever to much trouble for any of them to ensure you have an enjoyable holiday.

“Exceeded Expectations”

Reviews seemed too good to be true, but Creta Blue turned out better than I could have expected. The manager Georgios is most helpful and always cheerful. He can arrange anything you need. A taxi from the airport is about 40 euros. The accommodation is excellent, on the side of a hill facing the sea. It is the nicest we saw in the area with the friendliest and most helpful staff you could imagine. Being on quite a steep hill it would not be suitable if you have mobility problems, and probably not too safe for young children. Plenty of sunbeds, the pool is clean, and the whole place beautifully maintained. The gardens are exceptional and the place surrounded by flowers. The restaurant is very pleasant and Eleni, Geogios' mother prepares wonderful food. They have regular barbecue evenings and special menus. It is a family hotel, with wife Arianna supervising breakfast and his father Vangelis always around to help. It is an easy walk down to Hersonissos, not so good coming back up the hill in the midday sun, but a taxi costs only 7 euros. It is a typical seaside town with a pleasant harbour. It has the closest ATMs - there are none in Piskopiano or Koutouloufari. However they provide many alternative restaurants if you want to eat out. We didn't have a bad meal anywhere, but would recommend Nicos the Fisherman which is a another family run restaurant serving the daily catch. I'd strongly recommend that you stop reading this and book as soon as you can.
