“Convenient location in Old Granada”
I stayed at Casa del Pilar for three nights in late February. It was quiet at the hotel, because it was the off season. My single room was small, but everything worked as advertised. The wifi was fine. The hotel is a fantastic historic home from the Moorish period - and has a lovely interior courtyard and its own coffee bar for breakfast. The location is unbeatable. It is steps from the Albayzin quarter, and a lovely walk along the river. The Alcazar of the Alhambra palace seems to loom overhead. Two bells (one from the Church of Santa Ana and another in the Plaza Nueva) mark the quarter hours in a lovely way. There is virtually no traffic noise since the hotel is in an alley behind a courthouse. My only complaint is about something that may be beyond the control of the hotel. Maybe it's due to the new law in Spain prohibiting smoking in bars in Spain that forces smokers out onto the street. But in any case, during my stay I had a hard time sleeping because late into the night, people from a bar down the street were being very loud, singing and shouting in the alley, right down the street from the hotel. Despite this, I recommend the hotel. You can ask for a room that is not near the bar, and perhaps the hotel will address the problem with the bar's owner.
