“Would definately use the hotel”
If the Alhambra is your principle destination point, this hotel is for you. Desk personnel were extremely accomodating and helpful in every way. They even allowed us to enter the room earlier than the time posted so that we could going on our expedition.
“The best in Spain”
Excellent hotel and location. Good service, clean room with variety of accesories. VIP club room is nice.
“Location superb.”
We stayed for two nights next to the Alhambra in this three star hotel and were satisfied with the amenities they provided. Food was excellent, the decor needs updating, but other than that, we felt we received good value. The pool was also a nice size. Cabs in Spain are relatively cheap compared to Canada so we utilized them to get to town and to a few nice restaurants in the Jewish quarter. Coming back to the hotel is a long and steep walk. The only downside to our visit was the presence of an American group of students who monopolized the pool, brought lilquor to the pool and generally behaved as though they were the only ones there. Others at the pool felt they were poorly behaved and that this group had no travel etiquette at all. They also woke up the residents at the front of the hotel all night long returning from what it seemed to be, some kind of sex bar as their conversations and hooting and hollering seemed to be about. The hotel staff should have monitored their behavior and told them to vacate the public areas if they could not act with a modicum of civility.
“Good for Alhambra”
Good hotel, great location for proximity to Alhambra. Valet parking quick and efficient at a very reasonable price. Hotel looking a bit tired though, could do with a bit of tlc
“A great stay near the Alhambra”
If you want a handy hotel in an excellent position for visiting the Alhambra then this is excellent. A very nice hotel, with good service and in summer you can enjoy sunset views from the hotel's roof terrace, where you can also enjoy a fresh BBQ. Very Very plesent.
“A hotel with pool in city centre - can't say fairer than that.”
This is the second time we've been to the Alixares, because in our opinion its the best value hotel in Granada. The best bit is that you get your city break, but you also get to lounge around by the pool when you're feeling lazy. Don't worry that its going to be too far from town. My advice is to walk down the hill to town (down a lovely wooded pedestrian avenue), then get the bus back to the hotel. There is a bit of uphill walking though after you get off the bus so you need to be reasonably fit. The buses are unmissable and run every few minutes until about 11pm. If you're going for a few days, get an "abono" bus pass, because its more convenient than fishing around for change. Ask for a room with a balcony. And don't bother with the breakfast - there are lots of nice cafes where you can get "churros" or "pasteles" in town.
“OK good value near Alhambra liked roof top BBQ from 2300-0200”
Good value
“Alambra's Doorstep”
Access by car was easy, it did not involve driving into Granada town. The car was parked in underground ar park by hotel staff and was secure. The entrance to the Alambra Palace was directly across the road so there was no need for a car. The hotel caters for large goups therefore as an individual traveller checking in or out could be a slow if you are there at the same time.
“Great Alhambra location”
The hotel is just up the road from the entrance to the Alhambra and the bus stop for going into town. The hotel has a great breakfast buffet at a reasonable price, and is also a good spot for lunch after a morning at the Alhambra. We found our room to be clean and spacious, but the noise carried trough from the hallways and adjoining washrooms.
“Very good, staff very helpful and friendly!”
Nice place, a little old, but confortable, right across the street from the Alambra! not so close to the center of the city. The staff is very nice and always aiming to make your stay better and to help!
