“Very central location”
Can't fault my stay recently. Upgraded to a larger single room on arrival. Room on top floor so very little noise once window closed. En suite very clean. Breakfast consisted of both hot and cold buffet with ample choice. Only 2-3 minutes walk to S-Bahn, so easy to get around. Had no issues with area, just take normal precautions and you will be fine, was not hassled at all.

“Safety Concerns at this Strange Little Place”
There was no security or control upon entering the hotel: anyone could walk in off the street and walk up to the rooms without passing the front desk or any security. Considering the drug dealers and addicts and the prostitutes in the area (very close to the central train station) this is a very dangerous flaw of the hotel. The hotel was functional but not the least bit charming, despite the arty multi-colored tile fragments incorporated into the decor.
“Good choice to stay for a couple of days”
Rather good for the price. A little noisy location but you can't find more convinient place than Bahnhofviertel if you're going to use public transport. Breakfast buffet in this Clarion is not superb but not that bad.

“SEEING RED IN THE RED LIGHT DISTRICT”
THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE CLARION COLLECTION HOTEL FRANKFURT, although at the top of the page it seems to say City Plaza. It's no a problem, but be aware this hotel is in the heart of Frankfurt's red light district. It does mean that if you venture out desperate women grab at your clothing and burly young men bounce around in front of you, both trying to persuade you to visit their clubs. On my first morning, breakfast was a pretty disappointing affair, as it was explained to me the gas had broken down. Returning to my room on the fourth floor, I discovered the lift had also broken down. I was cross when I got a series of early morning calls, followed by banging on my door and shouting. It was explained to me that it was okay, it was just guests who got confused. Fine. I said the staff were okay. Actually, this is unfair on them. The Clarion Collection is one of those hotels that uses every trick to save money and that includes cutting staff levels to the bone and then failing to give them back up. Staff dealt with conditions at the hotel as best they could and with good humour. This hotel was sold to me as a four star hotel. It is not by any stretch of the imagination. The walls in my room were very thin, with great chunks knocked out of them. I'll probably stay elsewhere next time I'm in Frankfurt.
