We had plenty of elbow room and loved seeing the goats and donkey and a wonderful walk through the orchard. "From the moment we arrived at the property and identified ourselves as the family staying at Elmo's rest, we were treated like part of the family. We arrived at the house to find everything clean and ready even though we were a couple hours early. The house is a century old so floors creak and some doors stick a bit. "This house was everything we could have asked for and more. The location was amazing. It was secluded at the foot of the mountains, which made for beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It was quiet and peaceful. It was also centrally located to area attractions, such as, natural bridge, VA safari park, Lynchburg, and the natural bridge caverns. "This property was exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed our stay immensely. It fit our family of 4 very nicely. The view from the cabin was beautiful. If you have a boat, there is a dock you can tie up to. I will say the stairs to the dock are very steep and may be challenging for older guests, but they did not bother us. The owner was responsive and easy to work with."

This home offered a slew of activities for all to enjoy - the hot tub, the paddleboards, and the pool table. "My husband and I were looking for somewhere quiet in the woods away from everything to just relax. The cabin was beyond what we hoped for. The view was beautiful, the cabin had everything we could need. Not even the rain could ruin our visit, we open the door and watched the rain on the lake. We will definitely be back."
