This place is amazing. The staff are polished and professional at all times. The concierge, Lisa, is a real pro. The rooms are spotless, and the en-suite kitchens, replete with granite counter tops, viking ranges, refrigerator and microwave, allow you to buy a few groceries, and save big money on room service. The complimentary beach bags with towels, waters, snacks…and the amazingly flexible check-out time (capacity dependent) make this the perfect resort experience when in Honolulu. Literally across the street from the beach, and from every boutique shop known to man, complete the package!
"Very convenient. Walking distance to everything."
It was my first time in Hawaii and the Ala Moana helped to make it a memorable stay. It is so conveniently located. I was able to walk or bus to everything I wanted to see while I was in Honolulu. I will definitely recommend the Ala Moana Hotel to my friends and will stay again, if I have a chance to revisit Hawaii.
Loved my room on the top floor overlooking Waikiki area.
Glass windows on all sides, provide a beautiful atmospheric nightly view, watch the sunset...awesome!
Walking distance to shops, eatery and night life. Free transport to Ala Moana Center.
This is my 2nd stay at this hotel.
"The location is excellent with gorgeous scenery."
We stayed for 8 days. There are convenient stores which open till midnight, gourmet restaurants, variety of shops close by.
We have an occsion front room. The sun set is right in front of the hotel. Each day has its own beautiful sunset. The hotel is fully occupied. However, the facilities can be available for everyone with a little planning.
Many stores do not take all of the credit cards. Thus, it is better to prepare a few different kinds. The parking at Hanauma Bay only takes cash. Without it, you will be wasting your time getting there.
The beach area is pretty clean maintained by several hotels. It provides a wonderful long walk. The close by Royal Hawaiian shopping mall provides wonderful entertainment performances for the holidays.
I stayed at this hotel for a period of 3 days and then 8 days with a trip to Kauai in the middle during November/December 2014. Our double room on the 10th floor was lovely. The room was always cleaned beautifully and extra towels left when requested, which was every day as 2 ladies sharing. Also extra tea bags were supplied whenever requested. The hotel minded our extra luggage free of charge while we were in Kauai and when we returned from our 4 day trip to there at 10am in the morning our room was ready to check into which was great. I have previously stayed in much more expensive accommodation in Waikiki but could not see the point of paying all the extra money as you are never in your room. The room was great with plenty of room for 2 ladies with heaps of shopping. I used the pool area most days and it was lovely and not crowded. I will definitely be staying here on my next trip and would recommend this hotel to all.
"The staff is outstanding, pleasant and curtious!"
The Staff was outstanding, curtious and pleasant on all shifts. The staff that were offering us the best service during our stay was day shift and evening shifts. Dexter, Jazmaine, Chelsea and all staff. I will recommend this hotel to all my friends and family.
Close to Waikiki (five min ride on free trolley), connected to I-Hop rest (open 24/7), nice jacuzzi, great shower and bed, very clean, good TV, very helpful staff, close to lots of restaurants. And all for a very reasonable rate.
The only negative: Wi-fi in lobby, but not in room.
