“Very nice”

You will need a car - other than that there is really not much to say. The hotel is situated on top of a hill and has beautiful views of the surrounding areas - Tavarnuzze and Impruneta. About 5 miles to Florence - what a spectacular destination. You can't go wrong with this hotel.

“Great, except if you don't have transportation up the mountain”

Hotel Villa Ambrosina is a wonderful hotel with a gorgeous view and a very good restaurant. Service was very good and the staff was extremely helpful. Be ready for a steep hike (30 minutes) if you don't have a car/ don't want to take a taxi (from Florence it costs about 20 euro to taxi). Overall highly recommended.

“beautiful view”

hotel is located on a hill and is accessable by private car or taxi, only. Access road is quite steep and not in the greatest condition. The view from the hotel is breathtaking, staff very friendly, nice restaurant attached to hotel, but separate ownership. Suggest to take the bus to Florence due to heavy traffic. Bus station located on bottom of hill.

“Very nice hotel”

The hill....many reviews talked about the hill that this sat atop. Nobody described it accurately. You either need a car, or be prepared to walk up VERY steep switchbacks for about a mile with your bags. the plus side is that the road winds through a beautiful residential area, and goes by some old churches. After a lot of complaining from my family, once at the Villa Ambrosina, we were Thrilled. It is a beautifully maintained property with views of the valley that are STUNNING. The room was quite large, very clean and the bathroom was the largest we had while in Italy. If you have a car, or like to hike, this is a great place to stay.

“Gorgeous Hotel”

We travelled with our children aged 15 and 11. We were all in the same room, which had a large four-poster bed and a large sofa-bed. The room was big and very pretty with three windows overlooking the Chianti Valley. Lovely shower room too. Breakfast not up to much.

“Wonderful boutique hotel with a great Italian restaurant right next to it - will definitely go back!”

Hotel Ambrosina is a wonderful boutique hotel located just on the southern edge of Florence. It is situated within 15 mins driving distance to Florence center, and both 60 kms to Siena (further South) and Pisa (further West). The hotel desk was very helpful - they made telephone reservations for us for the Uffizi museum and for the Accademia (both are must see), potentially saving us couple hours in wait time for each. They also told us about good streets to park the car right outside of historic Florence to make it an easy walk for a family with young kids. As far as the hotel itself is concerned, the rooms in the main building are beautifully decorated (unlike those of a chain hotel), extremely well kept, and are of a fairly decent size for a family of four (we had 2 young kids who slept comfortably on the sofa bed). Most importantly, the Italian restaurant right next to the hotel is simply great - the chef is very friendly and will gladly customize his already scrumptious cooking to your taste, propose an excellent Italian wine to go with the food, and most of all, is fairly priced. We just absolutely loved this restaurant, and when combined with the hotel experience, it made for a wonderful stay!
