“Westin made our holiday memorable”
Everything at Westin Fiji exceeded my expectation - the service, cleanliness, food at the restaurants, the proximity to other hotels & the relaxing facilities. Thanks to the staff at Westin.
“Wouldn't stay again”
The foyer is very impressive, rooms are nothing like the photos. Overall our stay was ok, the staff were nice, the cocktails are flavourless, the spa is expensive, my lady kept yawning while massaging me - was I keeping her up! Not impressed that our ground floor room flooded during a big storm due to an overflowing downpipe. We got back to our room just as the cleaning ladies were drying up the last bit of water. Unfortunately they did not inform front desk, we had to. All of my shoes were water logged, my long dresses drenched at the hem. I had to ask for everything to be dry cleaned, we were not offered a new room our slippers were not replaced as promised and to top it off upon check out the Manager was so rude in regards to my water logged leather flats that are now water stained as they did not dry in time for our departure, compensation was minimal with little care and lack of apology. Would I stay at the Westin again? NO!
“Wow!!”
Everything about this hotel was amazing, service was outstanding, staff were friendly, facilities were great!
“Great Location great friendly service”
We only stayed here for one night but the location service and amenities are great. A great friendly place to stay
“5 Star with Fijian Character”
Unlike the other hotels on Denarau Island, the Westin has the look and feel of Fiji. You can tell this was one of the first hotels on the Island but have been upgraded and are large / clean / comfortable. The hotel (and the rest of Fiji) has very friendly staff and are accommodating. You can laze around the pool at the Westin and all Sheraton hotels on the Island. Meals are delicious but have a look outside Denarau Island for the more $$ conscious. The Spa offers a great way to start or finish your holiday with a 60-90 minute message. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will come back again.
“Paradise”
Let me just say that I was born in Fiji however I moved to Australia permanently when I was two years old. I have been back to Fiji a handful of times since and stayed at other resorts so I was not expecting much on this trip. My cousin (also lives in Sydney, Aus) decided to have his wedding in Fiji so over 100 friends and family from Sydney made the trip across to Fiji to share the experience with him. No one left home disappointed. The majority of us stayed at the Westin Denarau Island Resort and we had the absolute time of our lives. The staff are so friendly and quality of service is exceptional. There are a few hotels along the Denarau Island stretch but the Westin easily wins hands down by creating an authentic Fijian Island experience. Staying in an Ocean Front room, it was incredible at night to have what seemed like your own private little space of beach literary on your doorstop. Food and entertainment at the hotel was incredible as well. There is an abundance of food on offer during it's buffet times and the restaurants are of high quality food & service. Another bonus is that the hotel is located very close to Denarau Port which opens up an entire new holiday world. The Port also has many other fine eateries and shopping experiences as well as being a central hub that allows you to Island hop during the day if you want to explore all of the beauty of secluded Islands. Overall I would honestly rate my holiday adventure as the best 7 days of my life!
“Below Expectations”
- no cot in room on arrival even though it was previously requested - a rubber shoe mat was brought after requesting twice for a non-slip bath mat! - balcony railing was loose and the nails were coming off the wall - porters never came to pick up our bags upon checkout at a specific time requested so we had to follow up - hotel store that sells sunscreen is extremely expensive
“Excellent 5 Star choice”
The Westin was a great choice amongst other serious 5 star options. Beautiful resort, great room, great buffet breakfast. Food/Golf prices are high but typical of Fiji resorts. Would definitely stay there again if went back to Fiji.
“We will in furure specifically request a room that is not connected!”
We were generally satisfied with the hotel. But, we were allocated a connecting room. The connecting door allowed every human sound from our neighbours to be heard by us and I'm sure every sound that we made they could hear. (Knowing the sound travelled we tried to be as quiet as possible. )This isn't too good especially when our neighbours were up and about early each morning and one of them had a dreadful smokers cough! We went to Fiji to rest, so this was not appreciated. I asked if it was possible to be moved. They could only offer an inferior room with no offer of compensation. This room was not suitable so we declined. Hotels should either reinforce the connecting door with soundproofing, or, offer it at a cheaper rate if they are to be accommodated by clients who are not travelling/staying together. Also, we were surprised that smoking seemed to be allowed on balconies?!
“Not as good as some.”
Air conditioning in rooms is very noisy. Half the rooms are new, half old. Staff were disappointing, not anywhere near as friendly as other hotels in Fiji.
